Even though several big-name celebrities have spoken out against the trend, there’s still a string of entertainers willing to alienate much of their respective fan bases in order to score some political points.
One recent example involves John Mellencamp, who reportedly interrupted a performance of his hit “Pink Houses” during a recent concert so he could take a cheap shot at President Donald Trump’s decision to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
But the Trump White House was paying attention and issued a reaction, according to the New York Post:
