Multiple people were injured in a shooting in Seattle, Washington, near the Space Needle on Sunday night at a food festival.

Police and emergency crews reported to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. local time, according to the Seattle Times. Event attendees rushed to exit the venue after several loud pops were heard.

“Police are investigating a shooting,” the Seattle Police Department said in a statement. “Multiple shooting victims. Shots fired at the Seattle Center. More information to come. Please avoid the area.”

US ON TRACK FOR LOWEST HOMICIDE RATE IN OVER A CENTURY, REPORT SHOWS

Bite of Seattle, an annual event hosted at the Seattle Center, features live music and food vendors. The Seattle Monorail closed for the rest of Sunday following the shooting, and a spokesperson for Harborview Medical Center said it would treat people injured in the shooting.

Police have not confirmed how many people have been shot or if a suspect is in custody.
