Missile alarms blared across Bahrain on Friday after the Gulf nation said it was targeted in an apparent attack by Iran, prompting officials to urge residents to seek shelter immediately.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior issued an emergency warning as the alarms sounded across the island nation in the Persian Gulf.

“The siren has been sounded, Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the Ministry of Interior wrote in a Friday morning X post.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) later claimed responsibility for the strikes and followed up with a sweeping warning directed at several neighboring countries.

In a message distributed through the IRGC’s media operations center on Telegram, the group urged people in multiple Middle Eastern nations to avoid locations connected to U.S. military operations.

“To all citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria: For your safety, you are urged to immediately stay away from military and security bases, facilities, and headquarters, as well as locations where U.S. forces are deployed. Do not approach any area witnessing military movements or exceptional security measures,” the message read.

The warning also instructed civilians to keep their distance from locations where U.S. troops could be housed.

“Immediately maintain a distance of at least 500 meters (1,640 feet) from any covert or concealed accommodations used by U.S. military personnel,” the message continued.

The IRGC went on to identify a wide range of locations it claimed should be avoided, including American-owned businesses and properties linked to President Donald Trump‘s family.

“These locations include American hotels, American banks, American companies, high-rise towers, properties owned by the Trump family, and investments associated with them,” it concluded.
