Former wide receiver for LSU Karen Lacy has reportedly committed suicide at the age of 24.

Lacy, who football analysts considered a top NFL draft prospect, committed suicide months after being arrested in January on negligent homicide charges.

On January 13, Lacy was arrested after crashing and killing 78-year-old Herman Hall.

Prosecutors alleged Lacy fled the scene of the accident, which resulted in Louisiana police issuing an arrest warrant for Lacy.

Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy has reportedly taken his own life at the age of 24 – days before he was due in court accused of negligent homicide.

Lacy was considered one of the top prospects coming out of college football ahead of the 2025 NFL draft.But shocking reports emerged on Sunday that he had died.

According to WBRZ, the cause of death was suicide.Lacy was arrested on January 13 after a warrant was issued by local police over a December 17 car crash that killed a 78-year-old Louisiana man.

Prosecutors allege that Lacy crashed head-on into another car, killing Herman Hall. He was also accused of speeding and fleeing the scene.Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, hit-and-run driving with serious injury or death and reckless operation with accident. He was released on $151,000 bond and back in February, amid the ongoing legal problems, Lacy broke his silence on social media writing to write: ‘Trust the process!

Former LSU receiver Kyren Lacy was found dead Saturday night in Houston, an LSU official and his attorney confirmed to ESPN on Sunday.

A cause of death was not immediately known.

Lacy was accused of causing a crash that killed a 78-year-old man on Dec. 17 and then fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities. On Jan. 12, he turned himself in to authorities, was jailed and then released on $151,000 bail, according to police records.

Lafourche (Louisiana) Parish Sheriff’s Office records indicated that Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death and reckless operation of a vehicle. A grand jury was to begin hearing evidence in the case Monday.
