President Trump Announces BIG ACTION Against BIG PHARMA, US Prices to Drop Up to 80% ‘Almost Immediately’

It seems as though the long awaited “very, very big announcement” teased by President Trump several days ago has just been made.

And it’s a BIG ONE indeed!

The President took to his Truth Social account a few hours ago with the following post… teasing that his VERY NEXT post would be incredibly important:

I have to admit — the follow through on this one caught me completely by surprise!

I was convinced that the big announcement he originally mentioned would likely have something to do with his upcoming Mideast Trip.

But his initial teasing of this “very, very big announcement” while sitting in the Oval Office several days ago with Canada’s new Prime Minister was RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

Just a few minutes ago I refreshed the President’s Truth Social account, and sure enough he delivered on that promise!

He wasn’t kidding; this is HUGE! (I mean… Yuuuuge!)

The official White House X account shared the President’s Truth Social message, specifying that tomorrow is the day President Trump sticks it to Big Pharma!

That was not in the realm of what I was expecting, but that’s a HUGE BLOW to Big Pharma — and a HUGE WIN for America across the board!

For many years the World has wondered why Prescription Drugs and Pharmaceuticals in the United States States of America were SO MUCH HIGHER IN PRICE THAN THEY WERE IN ANY OTHER NATION, SOMETIMES BEING FIVE TO TEN TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE SAME DRUG, MANUFACTURED IN THE EXACT SAME LABORATORY OR PLANT, BY THE SAME COMPANY??? It was always difficult to explain and very embarrassing because, in fact, there was no correct or rightful answer. The Pharmaceutical/Drug Companies would say, for years, that it was Research and Development Costs, and that all of these costs were, and would be, for no reason whatsoever, borne by the “suckers” of America, ALONE. Campaign Contributions can do wonders, but not with me, and not with the Republican Party. We are going to do the right thing, something that the Democrats have fought for many years. Therefore, I am pleased to announce that Tomorrow morning, in the White House, at 9:00 A.M., I will be signing one of the most consequential Executive Orders in our Country’s history. Yeah. That’s going to be a hard one to LOGICALLY condemn him for; but I’m sure the ever-faithful Democrats will find a way to twist this in to something like… he’s cutting Medicare. (Mark my words.)

The President indicated that he will sign the Executive Order MONDAY.

Anyone with family members, or they themselves who have come to rely on prescribed medications to maintain some semblance of normalcy to daily life will understand intuitively what this means.

For an individual or a family, it could be the difference between critical medications… or going without.

For the country, it means a complete 180 degree change of direction.

And a GREAT one!

President Trump noted in his announcement that the effect would cause drug prices to rise throughout the world, but would bring ‘FAIRNESS’ to America, as reported by Fox News:

President Donald Trump announced he plans to sign an executive order on Monday that will reduce the cost of prescription drugs and pharmaceuticals “almost immediately, by 30% to 80%.”

Trump made the announcement on Truth Social Sunday.

Trump noted that the cost of drugs will rise throughout the World, but for the first time in many years, he added, it will “bring FAIRNESS TO AMERICA!”

“I will be instituting a MOST FAVORED NATION’S POLICY whereby the United States will pay the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World,” Trump said. “Our Country will finally be treated fairly, and our citizens Healthcare Costs will be reduced by numbers never even thought of before. This isn’t a small change — this could be the biggest, most long-lasting action taken by President Trump… PERIOD.

The specifics of the President’s plan haven’t been made public yet.

I’m expecting those details to be laid out plainly tomorrow, after the President signs the promised Executive Order.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first time President Trump attempted to lower drug prices for Americans.

He tried it in his first term, and it was defeated and rolled back by (you guessed it…) the duo of judges and the Biden Administration, according to CNN:

President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he plans to resurrect a controversial policy from his first term that aims to reduce drug costs by basing payments for certain medicines on their prices in other countries.

His prior rule, called “Most Favored Nation,” was finalized in late 2020 but blocked by federal courts and rescinded by then-President Joe Biden in 2021. It would have applied to Medicare payments for certain drugs administered in doctors’ offices. However, it is unclear what payments or drugs the new directive would apply to.

The directive comes as the Trump administration is also looking to impose tariffs on pharmaceutical imports, which had been exempted from such levies enacted during the president’s first term. The tariffs could exacerbate shortages of certain drugs, particularly generic medicines, and eventually raise prices.

Although lowering drug prices was a major talking point of his first administration, Trump has not focused on the topic as much this term. And his campaign told Politico last year that he had moved away from the “Most Favored Nation” model, which many Republicans strongly oppose.

But the administration revived the idea recently as a potential way to meet deep spending cut targets for Medicaid in the House GOP’s sweeping tax and spending cuts package. However, it’s unclear whether the proposal will be included in the legislation, the details of which should be announced shortly, or whether it would be covered by the executive order.

The initiative will likely face stiff opposition from the pharmaceutical industry, which successfully halted the first iteration.

While we wait for the details of the President’s plan, it’s fair to note that just the backbone to stand up to Big Pharma is something we’ve long been missing from the Oval Office.
