‘Small Communist Takeover’: Fetterman Goes On Fox News To Condemn His Party’s ‘Orgy Of Communism’

Here’s another development sure to fuel the persistent rumors that Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) will eventually be replacing that “D” with another letter.

His latest rant against fellow Democrats came as he appeared on a network many in his party would consider enemy territory: Fox News.

Here’s how that outlet covered the segment:

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., warned against what he called a “small communist takeover” within his own party during an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime.” Criticizing far-left groups involved in May Day protests, Fetterman described the current state of activism as an “orgy of socialism.”

“It’s like a marriage of the Palestinian, the anti-ICE, the abolish ICE and now turning it into like an orgy of socialism here,” Fetterman said Friday.

The Pennsylvania senator noted that while he supports the labor unions May Day is traditionally meant to celebrate, he believes recent demonstrations have strayed too far from the intended mission.

“I am an absolutely proud pro-union Democrat, but the kinds of mess that you see are showing up in many of them. That is the worst impulses that our party continues,” he said.

His comments reflect a growing number of old-school Democrats whose leftist views haven’t changed … but the radical views of others in the party make them seem rational or even conservative by comparison.

Fetterman’s ongoing rift with his party’s far-left flank has been chronicled extensively by Fox News and on social media:

But when it comes to actually leaving the party, Fetterman provided a fairly definitive answer to Fox News’ John Roberts last week, per Mediaite:

So, Senator, if I could just button this up by asking you this question,. I mean, you seem to be at odds with the majority of the people in the Democratic Party, and I’m wondering when you run for reelection in 2028, like Jim Justicedid when he flipped from Democrat to Republican after being governor and then running for the Senate, why don’t you run as a Republican?

Fetterman replied:

Well, because I’m a Democrat. I mean, for me, it’s like my views remain reasonable. My voting record actually reflects that I am a Democrat. You know, what’s changed me with many of my other colleagues is that I don’t agree and I use like extreme rhetoric and say, but I support what I think most Americans should agree with these things. You know, the Democratic Party, you know, we became an open border party, without a doubt. And now that’s wrong, and I support to make our border more security, and deport all of the criminals right now.

So I can’t be a Republican because in many other areas, I disagree on that. So whether if I’m politically homeless or whatever, but I’m staying in my party and I am not sure why the problem is with me and my reasonable views, you know, why that problem isn’t with the Democratic Party. And I think the Democratic Party, you know, has incredibly impossible to resist their worst urges, and the excesses that cost us the elections back in 2024.

Fetterman’s railing against the Democrats’ embrace of socialism might be effective at the margins, but it didn’t prevent New York City from electing Mayor Zohran Mamdani, which the Pennsylvania senator warned against:
