Boston homicide detectives are investigating a death near a home owned by Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s (D-MA) husband after police responded to an “investigate person” call at the residence Saturday afternoon.
Police “found a dead body in the area” of 25 Malta St. in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood after responding to a call at 1:52 p.m, according to the Boston Globe. A police officer “stood guard” at the door of the home and red crime scene tape stretched along its picket fence through the afternoon on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Officer James Moccia said officers arrived shortly after the call at the seven-bedroom home owned by Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband.
Realtor Chantae Turner said the property went on the market about one month ago and wasn’t aware of any specifics regarding the investigation. There is no indication foul play was involved and authorities have not released the identity of the deceased.
Harris delivered remarks on behalf of Pressley at a ceremony dedicated to Boston’s first female black TV reporter at a local library on Saturday morning, according to the outlet. Harris is the CEO and co-founder of a “management consultant firm” in his name and previously served as the deputy director of public safety for the city of Boston, according to a social media account.

Pressley, one of the most progressive Democrats on Capitol Hill, was first elected to Congress in 2018 and announced last December she would seek reelection in Massachusetts’ 7th Congressional District. Pressley and Harris have been married since 2014.
