Fox News anchor Griff Jenkins delivered what is being called “a blubbering apology” on the air after a popular radio host called New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani a “terrorist.”

On Saturday’s broadcast of “Fox & Friends Weekend,” Sid Rosenberg, the top-rated morning host on New York’s WABC Radio, said, “Trying to talk to Mayor Mamdani is like trying to talk to the IRGC, OK? This guy is a terrorist. That’s the bottom line. I’ll say it. You don’t want to say it. I’ll say it. He’s a terrorist. He’s a jihadist.”

“He hates the Jewish people. He hates America. He hates the Italian people. He hates the Irish people,” Rosenberg, who calls himself a proud Jew, continued. “He hates the German people. Unless you’re Muslim, Mayor Mamdani has no use for you.”

“He is a horrible person and maybe has perpetrated the worst American and Jewish hate in the history of this country. Those two people stabbed the other day in the Upper East Side of New York City, that blood is on his hands. That blood is on your hands, Mayor Mamdani.”

“This guy is the worst thing to happen to New York politics, maybe in the history of our state! He’s a lowlife.”

“His ideologies are in line with the terrorists. Mahmoud Khalil is a campus terrorist. You don’t have to kill somebody to be a terrorist. You have to share the ideology. That’s what this guy is.”

Jenkins initially pushed back against against Rosenberg, saying: “I think you may be a bit over your skis in calling him, labeling him a terrorist and you’re probably going to get flagged for that. New Yorkers elected this guy. They knew everything about him before.”

Some 40 minutes later, when Rosenberg was no longer on the curvy couch, Jenkins offered a more formal apology, saying: “We know there are a lot of heated feelings around this war, and last hour, while discussing the role anti-Israel sentiment is playing in the rise of anti-Semitism, one of our guests labeled New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani as a ‘terrorist.’

“Now that word carries an extremely serious meaning, and should not be used freely. And it’s important we distinguish between strong political criticism and factual allegations.”

Cullen Linebarger at the Gateway Pundit called Jenkins’ remarks “a blubbering apology,” saying: “The allegedly conservative Fox News Channel has decided to run cover for arguably the most dangerous communist politician in America following highly politically incorrect comments.”

“So weak. Did Mayor Mamdani’s office give Fox News a call?”

Best-selling author Naomi Wolf said: “Fox News needs to apologize for its apologies.”

On Sunday, Rosenberg indicated he found it “interesting” that after Saturday’s comments about Mamdani on Fox News, “not one LOCAL media outlet has said a word about it? The local media here in New York continues to run cover for this creep. He won’t say anything either because he knows I’m right! Shameful!”

Find it interesting that I made the comments about @NYCMayor YESTERDAY on @FoxNews and not one LOCAL media outlet has said a word about it? The local media here in New York continues to run cover for this creep. He won’t say anything either because he knows I’m right! Shameful!
