How do you think the Bolsheviks and the Nazis started? Totalitarianism? Our Founders specifically designed the Constitutional Republic which rejected mob rule. Both Madison and Jefferson meticulously read books on the history of failed democracies in preparation for the drafting of the Constitution. Madison, in particular, set out to avoid what he identified as the elements of those failures, relinquishing control to the demagogues and mob. Madison wrote of the fervent mob in “Federalist No. 10.”

  • “United and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.”
  • “A pure democracy, by which I mean a society consisting of a small number of citizens, who assemble and administer the government in person, can admit of no cure for the mischiefs of faction.”
The Framers with intent designed our system of governance not as a direct democracy but as a representative republic. Inherent within was room for deliberative debate and civil conflict resolution for principled governance, both in the halls of government and the soapbox gatherings across the countryside. The First Amendment is an essential component of our Liberty and should be applied equally to all citizens. There is no valid rationale for the destruction of property, physical intimidation, or inciting violence when practicing one’s right to freedom of speech.

Indoctrination and radicalization of citizens, especially students, in our culture have produced the desired effect and we see evidence of this everywhere we look today in our country. And we see it almost exclusive among those who espouse Progressive leftist ideology. Like the historical mobs of the past, the illusion of an organic grassroots movement is just that. Peaceful redress of grievances differs from the mob in that one is lawful and one is lawless in actions and the latter always has its genesis in well-funded backers of a political agenda that requires propaganda and force. You should be asking yourself why is this acceptable, fostered, and enabled? The answer is not a comfortable one. The answer is YOU

American’s checked out as the education system captured our youth and fostered anti – American sentiment over the last decades, read more here. They became dormant and allowed themselves to become sidelined as educators voided basic history, altered it, and stopped teaching civics altogether. Parents and caregivers essentially abdicated their responsibility to raise productive citizens capable of civil discourse and maintaining societal moral tone. The “Mob” has no conscience and feeds off of the terror its victims’ experience.

Today, in America you must risk your life to attend a Trump event! This is very uncomfortable to watch but force yourself to put yourself in Rand Paul and his wife’s shoes for the full video…can you viscerally sense their panic? In one section you can watch Mrs. Paul close her eyes and lower her head as if her anxiety is washing over her and she is trying to center.

The videos posted are prime examples of unraveling both civil discourse and moral tone. Those exercising political assembly under free speech to share conservative perspectives were respectful, calm, and lawful. The “mob” could have been the same while still expressing their point of view. I suggest that just like “Pavlov’s dog ” they have been conditioned to be entitled, hostile, threatening, and disdainful. When society does not set the limit-civility and moral tone becomes the casualty. There is no excuse for inaction once the evidence of such neglect is on full view. In the wake of violent riots, there are hundreds of examples of mob rule mentality on display in our country.

It has become commonplace now to be attacked in restaurants, fast food establishments, parks, parking lots, political rallies, and so forth, simply for choosing to peacefully express or wear a point of view the radicals disagree with. Presently, in Jefferson’s America, one cannot feel safe attending a political rally or party convention for a candidate for fear the mob will physically attack one’s person, property, or both. Perhaps more disturbing is the fact one can no longer count on law enforcement to protect you when another citizen is breaking the law in these circumstances. How did we ( collectively )allow this to become our country? Again the answer is an uncomfortable one. Apathy, denial, intimidation, and acceptance are the root cause.

Totalitarianism is often an insidious creep. The infamous prose by Martin Niemöller: “First, they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out — Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.” The practice of disavowing becomes habitual and it is far easier to keep one’s head down and stay unnoticed.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” – Edmund Burke.

Is this the America you want to live in? Where being white means you cannot eat at a restaurant without the threat of bodily harm?

The mob utilizes doxing routinely and is proficient with social media campaigns to threaten and or remove one from employment, disrupt relationships, as well as organizing around common goals. They mobilize in our streets, literally stopping traffic at intersections and commerce creating security and safety risks. Swarming in mass on cue from a tweet creates chaos which has resulted in millions of property damage, significant physical injuries, deaths, and disruptions to the quality of life for many. The Inauguration of a President erupted into the mob setting fires, physically assaults, and delaying /disrupting crowd flow and our collective silence condoned and hardwired more of the same to come.

The complicit media highlights the mob’s agenda and proceeds to gaslight the audience which only fuels the propensity of violent outcomes. Law enforcement, “stand down ” in liberal strongholds, and just like in this video, refrain from stopping the aggressive actors and the result is the victim becomes prey to the mob’s will. And they do so now with impunity. Censorship is at an all-time level high and only applies to those attempting to debate or oppose the Progressive agenda. The sum of the above provides a chilling effect on freedom of speech and liberty more generally.

Our ancestors bled and died both at home and on foreign soil for our freedoms. They did not do so for Conservatives, Independents, or Liberals. They did so for their countrymen. Those who came before us chose action over apathy, they chose to not look away over denial, they chose to not cower over intimidation, and most of all they vehemently rejected all that was antithetical to our Republic. Do not look away! Your silence and inaction is Acceptance.

Go to the polls and cast your ballot but also be prepared that in the event we lose to the fascists we may be required to take on the mob. Perhaps our ancestors and founders learned about mob rule from the French Revolution. Maybe YOU should pick up a legitimate history book and do the same.
