Since the New Year began, we’ve already had two acts of violence impact our nation.
First, there was a horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans that took the lives of 10 and injured more than 30 when a driver plowed through the crowd.
Then, there was a Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside Trump Tower in Las Vegas, killing the driver and injuring several others.
We now know that the Cybertruck explosion was caused by a bomb or fireworks rigged to a detonator.
Both are being investigated as terrorist attacks.
Full report on that here:
But, here's where things get interesting...
Both the Ford F-150 used in the New Orleans attack and the Cybertruck that was blown up in Las Vegas were rented using the carsharing app Turo.
Law enforcement has confirmed this as fact:
Law Enforcement Officials have stated that the Tesla Cybertruck which exploded earlier today outside the Lobby of Trump Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip was rented using the Carsharing Company, Turo. The exact same Company which the Suspect who carried out the Terrorist Attack today… pic.twitter.com/hJE13yXOwW

So, were the two linked? The Turo app was used to rent the cars associated with the vehicular attack in New Orleans as well as the Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Newsweek reached out to the Turo communications team via email for comment.
Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, has been named the suspect in the New Year's attack on Bourbon Street that killed at least 15 people and injured 30 early Wednesday morning.
Later on Wednesday in Las Vegas, a Cybertruck exploded in front of the Trump International Hotel, killing one and injuring seven others.
Both incidents are being treated as an act of terrorism. Both also were associated with the Turo app, as reported by the Associated Press.
Turo is a car rental marketplace that allows users to rent cars from "trusted hosts" across the United States, Canada, Australia and France, according to the app's description on Google Play.
The app says it is the "world's largest car sharing marketplace," allowing people to "skip the rental car counter" and instead "choose from an extraordinary selection of vehicles shared by local hosts and rent the best car for your trip, then you can pick it up at a convenient location near you or your destination."
Is this all some part of a bigger terrorist plot?
Elon Musk seems to think so:
From Republic World:Appears likely to be an act of terrorism.
Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way. https://t.co/MM6ehJO3SG

Many others are also thinking along these lines:Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday (local time) alleged a connection between the explosion of a Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and a similar attack in New Orleans, as both vehicles were rented from the same car rental site, Turo.
"Appears likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way," Musk wrote on X.
The explosion in Las Vegas killed one person and injured seven others according to a CNN report. The Tesla CEO clarified on X that the explosion was caused by fireworks or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck, not by the vehicle itself.
He also noted that the truck had been rented from Turo, alleging at a connection with the New Orleans attack, where, according to CNN, a suspect rammed into a crowd during New Year's celebrations with a Ford F-150 Lightning electric truck rented from the same site.
"We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself," Musk wrote on X.

- explosion from inside trunk, not the battery
- rented on Turo, possibly linked to New Orleans attack yesterday (not proven)
- Tesla provided useful info from charging station
- @Polymarket at 90% this was "intentional" https://t.co/3qCnbfhQ7H pic.twitter.com/Fth0oKojc5
HOLY SH*T!
A Ford F-150 Lightning truck driven by the New Orleans terrorist was rented through the Turo app.
Guess how the Cybertruck, which exploded in front of the Trump Hotel, was rented?
Via the Turo app!

We'll keep you updated as the truth comes out in the following days...Let’s just say it all together…
New Orleans = terrorist attack
Cybertruck explosion = terrorist attack
It’s not that hard.
