REPORT: Substance Sprayed On Rep. Ilhan Omar Revealed

On Tuesday evening, a man named Anthony Kazmierczak sprayed Rep. Ilhan Omar with some kind of amber-colored liquid.

The guy was quickly tackled and arrested. He’s facing third-degree assault charges.

Now, the substance that was sprayed on Rep. Omar has been revealed.

As it turns out, it was nothing but apple cider vinegar.

Liz Collin at Alpha News was the first to report:

BREAKING: Sources tell me it was apple cider vinegar that Rep. Ilhan Omar was sprayed with at last night’s event and that a hazmat team has confirmed that.

CNN confirmed that it was apple cider vinegar:

Forensic examiners have determined with high probability that the substance sprayed on Rep. Ilhan Omar at a Minneapolis town hall yesterday was apple cider vinegar, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.

The man accused of attacking Omar has been identified as 55-year-old Anthony J. Kazmierczak, a Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson confirmed to CNN earlier.

Omar’s office confirmed to CNN that preliminary reports showed the representative was sprayed with apple cider vinegar.

It's never okay to assault politicians with anything -- even apple cider vinegar.

But, come on...this is getting harder and harder to believe.

The New York Post shared a very outlandish account by a council member who also got sprayed with the vinegar at yesterday's town hall:

A hazmat team confirmed, too, that the syringe Kazmierczak allegedly used in the attack was filled with the vinegary substance, the outlet added.

Minneapolis Council Member LaTrisha Vetaw, who ended up being hit by some of the liquid, told The Post the stench was so bad she vomited.

“It smelled like vinegar or ammonia,” Vetaw said, adding that the odor was “overwhelming.”

“It started out smelling really like apple cider vinegar-smelly. Then it started to smell like ammonia, like a strong, pure ammonia smell, I was wondering why the smell wasn’t going away.”

“I got sick to my stomach,” she continued. “I went outside and threw up because, like, the smell was so strong.”

Jeez, dramatic much?
