Is the Iran war nearly over?
It’s very possible, based on the update President Trump had to give today.
While speaking to reporters outside the White House, President Trump all but declared victory.
“I think we’ve won,” he said, “We’ve knocked out their navy, their air force. We’ve knocked out their anti-aircraft. We’ve knocked out everything.”

Then, this evening, President Trump hinted that we will be out of there, very soon.JUST IN: President Trump says America has WON THE WAR against Iran
“Oh, I think we’ve won. We’ve knocked out their navy, their air force. We’ve knocked out their anti-aircraft. We’ve knocked out everything. We’re roaming free!”
“From a military standpoint, all they’re doing is clogging up the strait. But from a military standpoint, they’re finished!”
LFG! Victory is coming!
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said we are “getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East.”
He also noted that the Strait of Hormuz will have to be guarded by the countries who use it, and that U.S. involvement should not be needed once the threat of Iran is “eradicated.”
The White House shared President Trump’s full statement:

The war in Iran has been going on for around 3 weeks now.We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East with respect to the Terrorist Regime of Iran: (1) Completely degrading Iranian Missile Capability, Launchers, and everything else pertaining to them. (2) Destroying Iran’s Defense Industrial Base. (3) Eliminating their Navy and Air Force, including Anti Aircraft Weaponry. (4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to Nuclear Capability, and always being in a position where the U.S.A. can quickly and powerfully react to such a situation, should it take place. (5) Protecting, at the highest level, our Middle Eastern Allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others. The Hormuz Strait will have to be guarded and policed, as necessary, by other Nations who use it — The United States does not! If asked, we will help these Countries in their Hormuz efforts, but it shouldn’t be necessary once Iran’s threat is eradicated. Importantly, it will be an easy Military Operation for them. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Recall that, the very first week, President Trump predicted Operation Epic Fury would take about 4 weeks.
Based on President Trump’s statements today, it seems like we are right on schedule!
CNBC has more:
Still, at the same time, reports are circulating that the Pentagon is preparing to deploy ground forces in Iran — despite President Trump shutting down the idea earlier this week.Earlier Friday, Trump said in a phone call with MS Now’s Stephanie Ruhle that the U.S. could end the war “right now” but that he planned to press on with the offensive.
“I think we’ve won,” he later said on the South Lawn. “All they’re doing is blocking up the Strait. But from a military standpoint, they’re finished.”
Iran has effectively blocked off the strait since the start of the war. Trump has blasted NATO allies in an attempt to recruit additional support to help open the strait, which he said again Friday doesn’t matter to the U.S.
The bulk of the energy shipments through the strait are destined for Asian markets. But the Dallas Fed, in a report released Friday, said the economic effects of the closure will hit around the world, including in the U.S.
Trump, speaking to reporters Friday, portrayed reopening the strait as simple, provided other countries come to the aid of the U.S.
“It’s a simple military maneuver, it’s relatively safe,” he said. “But you need a lot of help in the sense of you need ships, you need volume. And NATO could help us, but they so far haven’t had the courage to do so.” He also called on China and Japan to get involved a day after Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi met with him at the White House.
From CBS News:
We also brought you this report earlier:Pentagon officials have made detailed preparations for deploying U.S. ground forces into Iran, multiple sources briefed on the discussions told CBS News.
Senior military commanders have submitted specific requests aimed at preparing for such an option as President Trump weighs moves in the U.S.-Israel-led conflict with Iran, the sources said.
Mr. Trump has been deliberating whether to position ground forces in the region, sources said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. It was unclear under what circumstances he would authorize the use of troops on the ground.
“No, I’m not putting troops anywhere,” he told reporters in the Oval Office on Thursday when asked about ground troops, but quickly added: “If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you.”
Officials at U.S. Central Command referred questions from CBS News to the White House and Pentagon.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement: “It’s the job of the Pentagon to make preparations in order to give the Commander in Chief maximum optionality, it does not mean the President has made a decision, and as the President said in the Oval Office yesterday, he is not planning to send ground troops anywhere at this time.”
In any case, please continue to pray for all of troops!
We’ll continue to bring you the latest updates on the war as they come in.
