With each new day, the relationship between Elon Musk and President Trump appears to be getting closer.

After having a major blowup last week, Elon Musk talked to President Trump in a private phone call on Monday.

Now, while signing legislation on Thursday morning, President Trump stated that Elon was a friend of his.

The New York Post filled in the details:

Trump spoke about Musk, the world’s richest man and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, while signing legislation overriding California emissions rules that promote electric vehicles.

“I like Tesla,” Trump said during a riff on how would-be car buyers should have choice, moments before recounting his relationship with Musk.

Musk was “very honest” in his equivocal stance on EV mandates, said the president, who then added that the former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) figure “got a little bit strange… over much smaller things than that,” the president said.

Musk lashed out at Trump after the president withdrew the nomination of Musk’s personal friend Jared Isaacman to lead NASA.

Trump's statement comes days after he stated he didn't blame Elon for acting out.

Per The New York Post:

President Trump has said he “could” patch things up with his former billionaire buddy, Elon Musk, but a potential reconciliation isn’t a top priority.

Speaking with Post columnist Miranda Devine on the debut episode of “Pod Force One,” Trump said he doesn’t “blame” Musk for the blow-up of their alliance, but is “a little disappointed.”

“Look, I have no hard feelings,” Trump, 78, said during a wide-ranging interview recorded Monday. “I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that’s phenomenal. …He just — I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.”

“I was disappointed in him, but, you know, it is what it is,” Trump admitted after Devine remarked that Musk seemed to treat the president “a bit like a father.”

“That happens. Things like that happen. I don’t blame him for anything. I was a little disappointed.”
