I know Morgan Freeman thinks he's the voice of God, but what he just said would have the Devil cackling with glee.
This morning we learned from President Trump that the illegal caravan of Central American migrants was broken up by the Mexican government. Trump thanked our neighbor to the south for enforcing their immigration laws:
The Caravan is largely broken up thanks to the strong immigration laws of Mexico and their willingness to use them so as not to cause a giant scene at our Border. Because of the Trump Administrations actions, Border crossings are at a still UNACCEPTABLE 46 year low. Stop drugs!

President Trump is being generous on this point. While Mexico helped disband the roving mob of invaders, it was done at the behest of Trump who, unlike his predecessors, wasn't about to bend over and be blackmailed by people who think they have a right to our country.
Trump showed he meant business by calling in the National Guard and threatening to send troops to the border to halt the invasion. This was apparently too much for Morgan Freeman, who tweeted out the following:
Dear Mexico,
I apologize for the egregious step taken by our President today. I hope you know his views do not reflect those of the majority of Americans, and I hope his little “ego stunt” will be over soon.
Embarrassed to be an American today.

This is a terrible betrayal. The U.S. is a sovereign nation. We reserve the right to protect our borders, through force if necessary. The entire modern world is built upon the idea of the sovereignty of the nation-state.
Freeman needs to brush up on his history. And his geopolitics. And his ethics. And just basic common sense.
