Mayor Adams Issues Clear Warning To Anyone Planning LA-Style Anti-ICE Riots In New York City

Although he aligns with his own party’s leftist stance on most issues, Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been a fly in the ointment when it comes to immigration.

After the Big Apple was inundated by illegal immigrants under the Biden administration, Adams began voicing concerns that conservatives had expressed for years.

Now that Los Angeles is under siege by leftist rioters opposed to the Trump administration’s much tougher immigration policies, Adams is making it clear that he won’t stand for such lawlessness in his city.

Putting up a united front with local law enforcement, the mayor led a press conference on the topic this week.

According to the Daily Caller:

“The escalation of protests in Los Angeles over the last couple of days is unacceptable and would not be tolerated if attempted in our city,” Adams said during a press conference Monday alongside NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Adams and Tisch appeared as a united front as the mayor encouraged would-be protesters to “choose peace and compassion over anger and retaliation.”

“I want to assure all New Yorkers that we have the best police department in the world. Men and women who are prepared to handle any issues that may arise, especially when we are faced with deep division in our society,” Adams said.

Meanwhile on the opposite coast, Democratic leaders are either ambivalent on the lawlessness or they’re actively encouraging protesters to become even more destructive:

In April, people were angry with Hernandez because she wouldn’t do anything about the homeless encampment in her district. A man couldn’t walk that way with his daughter because men were mastu*bating on the sidewalk. He said it’s not right the homeless have more rights than citizens.

Adams’ effort to get out in front of possible riots in New York comes as similar demonstrations are breaking out across the U.S.

According to Newsweek:

Protests against actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement erupted in several cities across the United States on Monday after clashes between protesters and authorities intensified in Los Angeles over the weekend.

Demonstrators gathered in major cities including New York, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Tampa, San Francisco against ICE raids and in solidarity with the protesters in Los Angeles.

The protests have highlighted ongoing divisions over U.S. immigration policy and its impact on communities across the country.

Protests against ICE erupted in Los Angeles on Friday, as federal authorities arrested immigrants in several locations throughout the city. Tensions escalated Sunday as thousands took to the streets in response to President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard. Trump and other administration officials have seized on the images of burning cars, graffiti and Mexican flags to bolster their cause, while California sued the Trump administration over the deployment of National Guard troops.
