The Department of Justice is now suing Minnesota over the state’s “transgender” policies.
Keep in mind that this state is governed by Tim Walz, who infamously earned the nickname “Tampon Tim” after signing legislation to put menstrual products in both genders of school bathrooms.
Currently, under Gov. Walz, boys who pretend to be girls are allowed to compete in girls’ sports.
They are also allowed to use private spaces meant for women, like bathrooms and locker rooms.
In a video message on X, Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon announced the lawsuit in honor of women’s history month.
Watch here:
AG Pam Bondi also shared a statement on the lawsuit:As we close out Women’s History Month, @CivilRights is proud to announce a new lawsuit against MN for violating Title IX.
This Dept. of Justice remains committed to standing up for women, backed by strong female leadership from @AGPamBondi. I’m proud to be part of that mission! pic.twitter.com/G5bObpUkoC

In the lawsuit, the Trump DOJ says that these policies inherently discriminate against women and violate Title IX, which is meant to ensure that both boys and girls have equal opportunities.Today @TheJusticeDept
sued the state of Minnesota for allowing boys to play in girls’ sports and use girls’ locker rooms.
This DOJ acknowledges biological reality and we refuse to let high school girls be subjected to this treatment. It’s not only unfair — it’s deeply inappropriate and dangerous.
Proud to partner with @SecKennedy

on this important litigation.
The New York Post reported:
This lawsuit is long overdue! The suit, filed in Minnesota federal court, alleges that the state’s Department of Education and the Minnesota State High School League have been implementing policies and practices that ignored “undeniable physiological differences between male and female athletes” in violation of Title IX.
Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon noted in the 45-page civil filing that the state also committed the violations while taking more than $3 billion in federal funding per year and agreeing to uphold nondiscriminatory policies.
“The Justice Department cannot ignore when a state brazenly defies federal antidiscrimination law,” Dhillon added in a statement. “In service of radical gender ideology, Minnesota’s actions violate Title IX and deny female athletes their hard-earned trophies, records, dignity, and safety.”
Dhillon asked the court for a permanent injunction to halt the state’s practices and force them to compensate female athletes who have lost out on opportunities, as well as submit compliance reports for the next five years.
The DOJ is also seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The suit claims Minnesota ran afoul of both Title IX and its “contractual assurances” with the Departments of Education and Health and Human Services.
It’s time to stop putting up with delusional ideologies that explicitly harm women.
