We have an update on how convicted murderer Bryan Kohberger — who stabbed four innocent college kids to death — is doing in prison.

And, he’s apparently really struggling.

His life is just too boring behind bars!

Oh, the humanity…

Don’t you feel sorry for him?

Keep in mind that Kohberger plead guilty in order to take a deal and avoid getting the death penalty.

Now, Kohberger is spending the rest of his days in a restrictive housing unit, residing in a single cell.

He’s only allowed out to shower every other day and for daily outdoor recreation, which is limited to one hour.

The mundanity of his existence is only broken up when he files complaints about his treatment.

Since being jailed, he’s filed multiple complaints — mostly about the pay system for commissary not working.

We don’t know what he’s ordering from commissary, but I imagine whatever it is must be the most exciting part of his day.

TMZ reported:

TMZ obtained official records from the Idaho Department of Correction (IDOC) detailing Kohberger’s concerns and day-to-day life behind bars — and it all just feels terribly mundane.

Case in point … Kohberger — who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing 4 University of Idaho students — filled out and submitted 3 “Resident Concern Forms” to staff at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in July and August 2025.
On July 27, Kohberger wrote to staff he was unable to access JPay — a system that facilitates sending money to an inmate’s trust account — so he could make a full commissary order — his one major task that day given that he’s mostly confined to his cell.
A correctional officer soon responded, telling Kohberger that it takes some time to get set up on JPay after getting moved to a new lockup. Kohberger was transferred from county jail to his current state prison around July 25 after he was sentenced to 4 life terms.

The snoozefest continued for Kohberger on August 13 with the killer scribbling on a “Concern” form that he “put in a supply request and never received the supply bag.” A staff member replied to Kohberger, reminding him supply requests are typically completed on Sundays. Zzzzzzzzz.
Then, on August 18, Kohberger picked up his pen again since he had nothing better to do and wrote a thank you note to a Sgt. Martin “for the printouts and bubble sheets for commissary.” He also let Martin know all of his JPay headaches were gone because he was finally able to access the system.
Here’s a copy of one of Kohberger’s complaints:

For another look at how this monster will spend the remainder of his days, a leaked video from his cell went viral a couple months ago:

The Idaho Department of Correction has since confirmed the video’s authenticity.

Per Blast via Yahoo:

Last month, reports emerged that authorities at IMSI have yet to discover who leaked the viral video of Bryan Kohberger in prison, per the Idaho Statesman.

The video first appeared online in August, leading to mixed reactions from netizens and claims from the Idaho Department of Corrections that it might have been AI-generated.

However, an internal email from IDOC Director Bree Derrick to prison staff later indicated that the video was most likely recorded from inside IMSI.

“These appear to be taken from inside IMSI. We are taking this matter very seriously,” she wrote.

At the time the video first emerged, IDOC released a statement promising to identify and hold the culprit accountable.

“Videotaping and publicly sharing security footage is prohibited conduct, and we will be reviewing all legal options, including criminal prosecution,” the agency said at the time.

The IDOC reiterated its promise to investigate the leaked Kohberger video in a statement last month and also confirmed that the original clip was authentic.

“While many edited or AI-enhanced versions of the video exist, we have determined that the original video appears to be authentic and in clear violation of IDOC policy,” IDOC spokesperson Sanda Kuzeta-Cerimagic said.

The spokesperson added, “The investigation into this matter is ongoing and remains a priority.”
Not only is Kohberger bored out of his mind, but he also gets to listen to inmates taunting him through the walls!

Kohberger frequently complains that he is “annoyed” by inmates and can’t get good sleep because others keep yelling at him through the vents.

From the New York Post:

Convicted killer Bryan Kohberger has whined that he’s “extremely annoyed” and losing sleep at the maximum-security prison he now calls home — thanks to fellow inmates who constantly yell through vents into his cell in a “relentless” taunting campaign, according to a report.

Kohberger, who was hit with four life sentences last month for slaying four University of Idaho students, was transferred from jail to the only maximum-security prison in the state and is now being held there in solitary confinement.

And the prisoners at Kohberger’s new digs at Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Kuna have had it out for the convicted criminology student — taking turns shouting into the vent that leads into his cell most hours of the day, a law enforcement source told the Daily Mail.

Kohberger, 30, has made multiple complaints to prison guards that he’s been unable to sleep, according to Chris McDonough, a retired homicide detective who works for the Cold Case Foundation.

“It’s driving him crazy,” McDonough told the outlet. “The inmates are tormenting him at night and almost all hours of the day — taunting him through the vents in his cell.”

“They are literally getting up into the grate and yelling at him. The inmates are taking turns doing it. It’s relentless,” McDonough continued. “He’s extremely annoyed and frustrated. He’s complaining to the authorities that he can’t sleep because of them.”

Kohberger is being housed in the prison’s restricted unit in the facility’s J block, away from the general prison population.

He’s kept in a cell by himself at all times, except for one hour a day when he’s let into “the cage” outside for recreation, while he wears restraints. And he’s only allotted one shower every other day.
Doesn’t seem like a good time, whatsoever. I imagine he’s going (even more) insane, day by day.

But hey, he didn’t give those three young women and young man the courtesy of a long, full life full of fun and excitement, either.
