If you only read mainstream media headlines, you’d probably think that President Trump’s approval rating is in the gutter right now.
Just like the MSM tried to gloss over Joe Biden’s glaring cognitive decline and paint him in the best light possible, they try to play up any and all negative perceptions about President Trump.
In the far-left, MSM, TDS bubble, President Trump can do no right.
But, in reality — the world most of us live in — President Trump’s approval rating has been very steady, hovering at a consistent 45-50% since taking office in January.
Overall, President Trump’s approval rating during his second term is several points higher than during his first term.
It’s hovering right around where Obama’s was at this time in his second term, and several points higher than Bush’s:
During his first term, President Trump’s rating hit its lowest point at 37% in December 2017 and its highest at 47.3% in March 2020.2nd Term Approval Rating Comparison Per RCP

Keep in mind that Joe Biden left the White House with an approval rating of just 39% (and his all-time low was 37.1% in July 2022.)
According to RealClearPolitics data, President Trump’s approval rating was at 50.5% in January.
Then, a couple months ago, it hit its lowest point of his second term so far at around 45.2%.
Recently, it’s shot back up steadily, standing at 47.5% today:

Rasmussen has it even higher, at 51%:
Now, approval ratings mean much less in a second term than it does in the first.Trump Approval is at 51% today, up a point from last week:https://t.co/K0PyR8vsPe#TRUMPAPPROVAL pic.twitter.com/MRqmemrF4l

President Trump doesn’t need to care so much this time around. He’s not running again (so he says, at least right now…)
But, approval ratings do give a broad indication of how the American people feel about their president and could sway election results in the 2026 midterms as well as the 2028 election.
And, it’s pretty satisfying to watch CNN being forced to admit that President Trump’s approval rating is on the rise:

Despite what the MSM wants you to believe, Americans as a whole are even happier with President Trump this time around.President Donald Trump‘s average approval rating largely held steady this week, with polling placing him between three and five points underwater.
A Friday, May 23 average of recent polls from the New York Times gives the second-term president a 45% approval rating, with 51% disapproving of his performance. The outlet’s approval rating average has held steady between 44%-45% over the last 30 days, but it does show a downward trend for the president since early March.
Pollster Nate Silver’s “Silver Bulletin” newsletter showed the president reached his best approval figures since early April this week, settling in with a 46% approval and 50% disapproval on May 23. RealClearPolitics’ average was more than a percentage point higher, calculating a 47.7% approval and 49.3% disapproval rating.
I know I am.
How about you?
