Fetterman Delivered Perfect Response To AOC In Feud Over Government Funding Bill: ‘She’ll Have Her Paycheck’

As a continuing resolution made its way through both chambers of Congress, a handful of Democrats were willing to cross party lines in order to ensure the federal government continued to receive funding.

But since President Donald Trump supported it, the usual suspects of far-left lawmakers were up in arms and began railing against fellow Democrats who dared to vote yes.

One of the loudest voices was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY):

As with many of her arguments in the past, however, this one was easy for her critics to dismantle.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), who voted in favor of the bill last week, offered his response to Ocasio-Cortez’s opposition, as The Hill reported:

“I hope you can relay how little I care about her views on this,” Fetterman said when asked about Ocasio-Cortez’s comments that Senate Democrats who vote to advance the bill are betraying their Democratic House colleagues.

“I’m going to stand on what I happen to believe is the right thing to do but ask her, ‘What’s the exit plan once we shut the government down?’ What about all the millions of Americans who are going to have their lives damaged?” he asked.

“What about the ones that won’t have any paycheck? She’ll have her paycheck, though,” he said.

His reaction fueled a new wave of social media discussion on the topic:

America is with you, Senator Fetterman. AOC- is coarse, loud, and uninformed; not who you want as your poster-person and face to the world.

It wasn’t the first time Fetterman expressed stark disagreement with Ocasio-Cortez, as the New York Post reported last year:

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Penn., hit back at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Sunday after she suggested he was a bully for comparing the House of Representatives to “The Jerry Springer Show.”

“Oh, well, of course, that‘s absurd. I was just simply responding to the kind of chaos and everything that Rep. Greene started as well. And if everyone on the committee was proud of what they‘ve produced, they are entitled to their opinion or if they feel that this is the kind of a video that you want to send to a classroom of 8th grade civics kind of students across America,” Fetterman said, responding to CNN’s Jake Tapper. “That’s their choice.”

Following a clash between Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., and on Thursday, Fetterman quipped that the House of Representatives was worse than “The Jerry Springer Show.”

Ocasio-Cortez shot back at Fetterman, writing on social media, “I stand up to bullies, instead of becoming one.”
