FCC Chair Calls Out Comcast For ‘Maryland Man’ Misinformation: ‘When The Truth Comes Out, They Ignore It’

Media outlets have been carrying the water of open-borders leftists in the Democratic Party by repeating the misleading narrative that Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the El Salvadoran man deported from Maryland by the Trump administration, was just an upstanding family man.

The reality — alleged MS-13 gang ties, reports of spousal abuse, etc. — has forced some early critics to scale back their attacks against President Donald Trump.

But Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr recently says one telecommunications giant remains committed to the story:

Comcast outlets spent days misleading the American public—implying that Abrego Garcia was merely a law abiding U.S. citizen, just a regular “Maryland man.”

When the truth comes out, they ignore it.

Comcast knows that federal law requires its licensed operations to serve the public interest. News distortion doesn’t cut it.

Abrego Garcia came to America illegally from El Salvador, was validated as a member of the violent MS13 gang—a transnational criminal organization—and was denied bond by an immigration court for failure to show he would not pose a danger to others.

Why does Comcast ignore these facts of obvious public interest?

Democrats and other leftists have leaped to the defense of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old illegal migrant who was arrested and deported to El Salvador from Maryland in March.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin pointed to evidence that Garcia is a member of the MS-13 gang:

1. When Garcia was arrested he was found with rolls of cash and drugs.

2. He was arrested with two other members of MS-13.

3. Two judges found that he was a member of MS-13. That finding has not been disturbed.

4. When arrested he was wearing what is effectively MS-13’s uniform.

Fox News provided additional details:

Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released court documents regarding Abrego Garcia, which cast further doubt on the Democrats’ narrative about his innocence.

DHS released new documents this week, which it says definitively proves Abrego Garcia, who was deported to the El Salvadoran mega prison “Terrorism Confinement Center” (CECOT) last month, is a member of the notorious MS-13 gang.

According to a Prince George’s County Police Department interview sheet shared with Fox News by DHS, local police discovered Abrego Garcia during a murder investigation. Police found him loitering in a Home Depot parking lot with other known MS-13 gang members in possession of illicit drugs in 2019.

The El Salvadoran president has also weighed in, echoing the Trump administration’s assurance that Abrego Garcia will not be returning to the U.S.:
