The Blaze may soon be facing major lawsuits…
The FBI has officially ruled out the former Capitol Police officer mentioned in The Blaze’s report, which claimed she was a 94% match to the DNC pipe bomber.
In the Blaze’s report they did a forensic gain analysis which is the assessment of how someone walks or runs and then proceeded to match the pipe bomber’s stride to the former capitol police officer.
However, the FBI has completely rejected the Blaze’s report and has now cleared the former police officer entirely.
CBS News provided more details on the FBI clearing the Capitol police officer:
A federal security officer linked to a thwarted Jan. 6 pipe bomb attack cleared her name by providing an alibi: video of her playing with her puppies at the time the devices were placed, sources told CBS News. The FBI has now ruled her out as a suspect in the 2021 plot, according to three sources — but only after her name circulated on social platforms and a conservative news site.
How an innocent woman’s name came to be publicly linked to the unexploded pipe bombs is a question that has raised concerns among some senior officials in the Trump administration.
CBS News is not naming the security officer or her workplace. The federal agency she protects declined to comment.
Multiple sources said that a unit overseen by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard drafted a memo identifying the woman and describing allegations that she had placed the explosive devices outside Democratic and Republican party offices. The memo was written after ODNI was made aware of allegations from an outside source, an ODNI spokesperson said.
ODNI officials said the agency received a tip from a person affiliated with a media organization about potential criminal wrongdoing by an individual believed to be working at an intelligence agency and set about documenting it in a memo.
A copy of the unfinished memo was given to senior staff at the security officer’s workplace, sources said.
It also circulated among a few Trump administration officials, building expectations that the nearly five-year-old case might be solved. But the memo caught some officials at the FBI, Justice Department and White House off guard, the sources said.
Apparently, the FBI has now cleared the person identified by the Blaze as potentially being the Jan. 6 pipe bomber.
According to CBS News, the person identified by the Blaze has an alibi: video of her playing with her puppies at the time the devices were placed.

Here is the Blaze’s original report which has since been edited several times:Can @FBIDirectorKash or @FBI_Response confirm the accuracy of this story from CBS?
That the person identified by @SteveBakerUSA and @theblaze as being the potential Jan. 6 pipe bomber could not have been the culprit because of her alibi: a video of her playing with her puppies… pic.twitter.com/0VKaUvK1zC

A forensic analysis of a female former U.S. Capitol Police officer’s gait is a 94%-98% match to the unique stride of the long-sought Jan. 6 pipe-bomb suspect, according to a Blaze News investigation confirmed by several intelligence sources.
A source close to a congressional investigation of Jan. 6 additionally told Blaze News evidence has emerged recently that pointed toward law enforcement possibly being involved in the planting of the pipe bombs.
‘They were f**king in on it.’
A software algorithm that analyzes walking parameters including flexion (knee bend), hip extension, speed, step length, cadence, and variance rated Shauni Rae Kerkhoff, 31, of Alexandria, Va., as a 94% match to the bomb suspect shown on video from Jan. 5, 2021. The veteran analyst who ran the analysis for Blaze News said that based on visual observations the program can struggle with, he personally pegged the match at closer to 98%.
After publication, Steve Bunnell, who the Washington Post identified as an attorney for Kerkhoff, told the Post his client “categorically denies” that she planted the pipe bombs.
Seventeen days after Blaze News’s story, on November 25, CBS News reported that the FBI has ruled the suspect out of any involvement in the 2021 pipe bomb plot, citing “three sources” who were not identified. According to CBS, the suspect was cleared after establishing an alibi through a video of her playing with her puppies at the time the devices were planted. Prior to this article’s original reporting, Blaze News repeatedly requested such evidence from the FBI.
Kerkhoff, who was a Capitol Police officer for four and a half years, left the department in mid-2021 for a security detail at the Central Intelligence Agency, sources told Blaze News.
CIA spokeswoman Liz Lyons stated that the subject worked in campus security.
