In a video shared to X by the NFL’s Tennessee Titans, the country music star, 40, revealed that he had dropped a significant amount of weight. Speaking to a room of players and staff, the rapper mentioned casually that he had “lost 200 pounds.”

“I can’t get on the field,” he joked, but added that he was “close.”

“I lost 200 pounds. I told coach I’m getting a contract if I lose another 50,” the singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, said to the sound of applause.

Method #1: He Trained for and Completed a 5K

From country singer/rapper to cardio king, Jelly Roll completed his very first 5K—the 2 Bears 5K at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium—in May 2024. Leading up to race day, Jelly Roll ran two to three miles daily, four to six days a week, People reports.

Method #2: He Used the Sauna and Cold Plunge

Jelly Roll complemented his cardio training with hot and cold therapy.

The celeb wrapped up each two-to-three-mile run with 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna and then six minutes in the cold plunge, according to People.
Method #3: He Played Basketball and Boxed on Tour

He shot hoops with his crew, walked the arenas, and boxed for a high-intensity workout.

By adding sports like boxing and basketball to his workouts, Jelly Roll reaped significant mental and physical health benefits.

No successful weight loss journey is complete without proper nutrition—and Jelly Roll’s onto something good. He cut down on alcohol and recruited nutritionist Ian Larios to be his chef on the road.
