President Trump just issued a huge ultimatum to Iran.

He is giving Iran 48 hours to fully open the Strait of Hormuz — or else, the U.S. military will strike and obliterate all of their power plants.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said that U.S. would start with “the biggest one first!”

If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz, within 48 HOURS from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various POWER PLANTS, STARTING WITH THE BIGGEST ONE FIRST! If Iran does not open the Strait of Hormuz, and President Trump carries out his threat, the effects would be insanely detrimental to Iran.

The country’s largest power plant is also their only nuclear power plant.

CBS News provided more background:

Iran’s largest power plant is the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, located on the Persian Gulf in southwest Iran. It is Iran’s only commercial nuclear power plant.

The Strait of Hormuz has been effectively closed to most ship traffic by Iran’s military forces since the war began three weeks ago. The crucial waterway is responsible for the movement of approximately 20% of all global oil, and its shuttering has led to a spike in gas prices.

Mr. Trump’s statement comes after the Treasury Department Friday announced that it was lifting sanctions on Iranian oil at sea as it attempts to bring down those prices.

Needless to say, it will be interesting to see which path Iran chooses…

But, one thing’s for sure: If I were Iran, I definitely wouldn’t try to call Trump’s bluff.

It’s going to be an interesting start to the week. Trump has had enough of the Strait of Hormuz being closed.
