A mass shooting has been reported at the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rogue.

At least six people have been hospitalized with injuries, and two are in critical condition.

At this time, numerous emergency crews are on the scene in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the Mall of Louisiana following reports of an active shooter incident. Authorities say the situation unfolded near the food court, where shots were fired. Witnesses describe chaotic scenes, with people seen running out of the mall and taking cover as the gunfire erupted. At least six people have been injured and transported to hospitals. It is currently unclear whether the suspect or suspects have been taken into custody. Police are urging the public to avoid the area as the situation remains active and under investigation.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry released a statement on the shooting:

I am aware of the active shooter scene at the Mall of Louisiana. I am in coordination with law enforcement and we will update as we know more. Please avoid the area.

Police are still searching for the suspect — or, possibly, two suspects.

WAFB provided the latest update:

The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed two people are in critical condition and multiple others have been hurt following a shooting at the Mall of Louisiana.

The shooting is believed to have happened near the food court.

Sources say it is not an active shooting situation and involved two groups of people.

Paramedics have been called to the scene. EMS confirmed a total of 6 victims have been transported. They are setting up a triage near JCPenney.

Police are looking for one to two shooters.
