(Note that there are few cusswords, so skip over those parts if you can't handle bad language).
" So being a vet from the old breed I had the recent honor of helping a kid that works with me enlist into the Marines. Being a former marine myself, I was more than happy to help him, hopefully point him in the right direction, and hopefully not let him become a statistic. I helped him study for the ASVAB, PT, anything and everything I could think of that could possibly be a hurdle for him.
So the week before last, his recruiter comes in to have him sign his final enlistment papers at our shop. As he going through the questions on them I can’t help but chuckle remembering when I signed up. As he gets to the third page of the contract, the last two questions really knocked me on my a$$.
"What was your birth gender? What gender do you identify as?”
At this point the kid, the recruiter, and the kids’ family are looking at me. I apparently had said,
“Now that’s some damn bull---t.”
The kid’s going in and we got his scores good enough to be military intel.
We have all read about the transgenders getting into the military. Most of us strongly disagree with it. I don’t have issue with gays and lesbians serving. What happens behind closed doors is their business not ours. Part of getting in and going to MEPS is to be screened for physical and mental issues. People with gender bender complex have no right to be there . . . for safety reasons. Not only for themselves but for those around them.
I also have an issue with my federal tax money paying for someone to switch genders. I expect my military to have the best equipment possible. I expect my military to have the gear and supplies they need to be the best fighting force on the planet. I don’t expect other soldiers to have to deal with people on hormone treatments, which as we all know, going either way can cause some serious issues mentally and emotionally."
