‘These Are Kids’: Dem Parent Accused Of Targeting High School Students Trying To Start TPUSA Group

When high school students tried to form a Turning Point USA chapter, the vice president of a local Democratic club in Texas rallied her Facebook group to pressure teachers against sponsoring it.

Nathalie Herpin, a parent and the vice president of the Spring Valley Democrats, posted an “urgent request” on Facebook, urging members to block students’ efforts to launch a Turning Point USA chapter at Stratford High School in Houston’s Spring Branch Independent School District.

“Please please please send emails to two teachers who are rumored to have agreed to sponsoring a club that will sow division and hate among our students,” Herpin wrote. “This is dangerous territory, and it would help if those teachers knew that their consideration was not appreciated by the remainder of the student body.”

Herpin then mentioned Denise Bell, the chair of Harris County’s “Moms for Liberty” chapter, stating that she was “pushing for Stratford students to start a TurningPoint USA club at the school.” Herpin referenced a private GroupMe chat, saying Bell had added “the Gulf Coast Representative of ‘Club America’ which is the Turning Point USA student club name – but it is absolutely the same organization.”

“Without principal’s approval, they already decided their first meeting is Friday and already started an instagram page,” she continued. Revealing information from a private GroupMe chat, she named two people — whose names were later redacted — as “the two who are being claimed as sponsors (per the GroupMe).”

Then she launched into an attack on TPUSA, writing:

Before this gets too far, please send an email and remind them of the following:

• Club America is formerly known as Turning Point High School (same organization, rebranded), it is formally linked on the Turning Point USA website.
• Turning Point USA is known for having a “Professor Watchlist” where any teacher can be turned in for a witch hunt and professional stalkers will work to get them fired
• Turning Point USA is a POLITICAL organization and there is no mistake that teachers who sponsor this club are making a personal political statement
• Turning Point USA has frequently framed immigrants, black people, and LGBTQIA+ individuals as an “existential threat” to white, Christian Americans. The existence of this group is guaranteed to sow division and potentially promote violence.

She followed with an outrageous statement that totally mischaracterized the assassin of Charlie Kirk, framing him as a disgruntled right-winger: “Given the famous founder having recently been murdered by an individual motivated by interpersonal rivalry (Nick Fuentes or Charlie Kirk being the better far-right activist), it is very risky for students to bring that kind of potential inflammatory rivalry into school halls, especially with the rate of school shootings in the united states.”

She then added this:

“Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge.”

“The answer is yes, the baby would be delivered.” (Responding to a question about whether he would support his 10-year-old daughter aborting a pregnancy

Mom’s for Liberty’s Harris County chapter accused Herpin of doxxing the students trying to form the Turning Point USA group at their school.

“REPREHENSIBLE,” its X account posted. “These are KIDS!”

Alerted to the situation, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division Harmeet Dhillon responded:
