I've always liked Neil Cavuto. He's honest, and he's a trooper (for those who don't know, he's been dealing with a lot of health-related stuff). I've always valued his opinion, so naturally, I was interested in his take on the whole Stormy Daniels payout fiasco.

He was BRUTALLY honest.

“Let me be clear, Mr. President. How can you drain the swamp if you're the one that keeps muddying the waters? You didn't know about the $130,000 payment to a porn star until you did,” Cavuto said.

He's referring to these tweets, in which Trump admitted to knowing about the payout after all:

Mr. Cohen, an attorney, received a monthly retainer, not from the campaign and having nothing to do with the campaign, from which he entered into, through reimbursement, a private contract between two parties, known as a non-disclosure agreement, or NDA. These agreements are…..

…very common among celebrities and people of wealth. In this case it is in full force and effect and will be used in Arbitration for damages against Ms. Clifford (Daniels). The agreement was used to stop the false and extortionist accusations made by her about an affair,……

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 3, 2018

…despite already having signed a detailed letter admitting that there was no affair. Prior to its violation by Ms. Clifford and her attorney, this was a private agreement. Money from the campaign, or campaign contributions, played no roll in this transaction.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 3, 2018

Back to Cavuto…

“You said you knew nothing about your lawyer Michael Cohen handling this, until acknowledging today you were the guy behind the retainer payment that took care of this,” he said. “You insist that money from the campaign or campaign contributions played no role in this transaction. Of that you're sure. The thing is, not 24 hours ago, sir, you couldn't recall any of this. And you seemed very sure.”

I'm not saying you're a liar,” Cavuto continued. “You're a president, you're busy. I'm having a devil of a time figuring out which news is fake. Let's just say that your own words on lots of stuff gave me lots of pause.”

Here's his full rant:

“I guess you're too busy draining the swamp to ever stop and smell the stink you're creating,” Cavuto added. “That's your doing. That's your stink, Mr. President, that's your swamp.”

Yiiiiiiiikes.

People are pretty split on Cavuto's take. He rocked the boat.

Thank you, Thank you. You have earned my respect and gratitude. The American people are grateful to you for holding Trump accountable and asking to please have integrity.

@teamcavuto thanks for speaking the truth!! I love all these other commenters bashing you…but they would be the first to say ” No Mr President, you're not naked…your new clothes look amazing!”

Loved every second of it. Finally someone on Fox that sees what is going on and has the integrity and courage to tell it like it is. I use to watch Fox all the time, but since it has become the Trump News Network and cheering section, I rarely watch. Great job, Neil!

— Marilyn Crosby (@marilyncrosby) May 4, 2018

Yes Neil, you are a Trump Hater. Some of your points valid, but some were natural changes in policy when situations https://t.co/XNaihLhFZr use to have a great show, but now there are very few news facts. Most of your show is speculations by you & guests negative to Trump.

— EJ Sage (@pigandlizard) May 4, 2018

You get the idea.

Listen– I'm all about holding Trump accountable. That's the mistake conservatives CANNOT make. Don't be like the creepy Democrats who act like their leaders can do no wrong. NO ONE is perfect. We should hold Trump accountable for his words, but we ALSO have to remember that we're dealing with an extremely hostile press that's hell-bent on delegitimizing his presidency. It's up to us to distinguish the fake news from the real stuff.

As far as the Stormy Daniels payout goes, I think Trump should've just admitted it from the beginning. While I think it's stupid and irrelevant, he should've just said, “Yeah– I had an affair and paid her off. It was a long time ago, and I've worked through it with my family.” The end.

Anyway, I think it's kinda ridiculous to completely dismiss Cavuto as a closet lib Trump hater. We're allowed to be critical. Blind devotion to political figures is dangerous. You don't have to agree with what he's saying, but it's OK to support Trump AND admit that Cavuto has some valid points.

My response:

I am a strong supporter of President Trump. When I look back at previous presidents and how "unpolished" they were, I have to give credit to President Trump, a private citizen, who threw his hat into the ring in 2015, placed his multi-billion dollar business into the capable hands of his two sons and announced that he was running for POTUS. When I think about the courage it took for him to put his life on hold for 5 years to "fix" our country HIS country and his family's country only in America can this be a success story. There is no one else quite like Donald Trump. The fact that he ran as a non-politician not connected to the swamp/deep state....the good old boy network....One World Order is the very reason his popularity rating has remained high. Americans trust Donald Trump. And, yes, he should've admitted to the brief affair with a sleazy porn star and the pay off to keep her quiet. Donald J. Trump isn't accustomed to being under a microscope.

I was also a strong supporter of President George W. Bush. I can't remember how many times I would "cringe" after listening to him deliver a speech to America. He was cocky. He was not well spoken or highly articulate as one might expect a president to be. He made mistakes. And still, I supported him.

I have to admit that President Ronald Reagan was a hard act to follow as he could charm lipstick off a pig. I adored Reagan. I didn't adore Bush and I do not "adore" Trump. However, I believe Donald Trump was a blessing to the United States. We may not like his limited vocabulary. We may not like that he exaggerates and gets caught in many of those exaggerations which produces a lie in the end. Yes, he was a womanizer. That seems to go hand in hand with powerful men (and women) who seek comfort in places many of us would not. I've always heard it is "lonely at the top." Well, when one is lonely....they may seek some semblance of companionship. Donald Trump did not know that one day he was going to be President of the United States. Consequently, his past followed him. The past followed President Clinton and, unfortunately, he brought his past into the Oval Office with a sassy little page. He lied about it under oath and was impeached. Never a dull moment when you are President of the United States unless, of course, you are Jimmy Carter or Gerald Ford. I feel certain that VP Mike Pence is being entertained.

I compare President Trump to is your glass half full or half empty? Trump has done a masterful job of jump starting our economy, trade and restoring America's strength to the world.

So, to Neal Cavuto, is your glass half full or half empty? My glass is half full.

Did he pay her out of campaign funds? No? Nothing to see here. She accepted the check and signed a Nondisclosal Agreement. That is not proof of Trump having and affair. It merely means she used the threat of public scandal to make a candidate pay her to go away.
Will he sue her for disclosing?
She doesn’t claim rape. Unlike Clinton, Trump left no trail of victims,

Stopped watching Cavuto a long time ago when his Never-Trumper colors came out. He is part of the alleged "conservative" media swamp. His fixation on the "Stormy Daniels" nothing is a perfect example especially with the use of government assets to influence the 2016 elect by Obama/Shrillary/Deep State DC/media/Big Tech and now the circus of the latest Supreme Court nomination process to focus on!
