Trump may pull a rabbit out of the hat but along the way consider there may be no rabbit and no hat. I was just listening to Scott Bessent droning on how cheap goods is not in the American ethos. That’s certainly the case when your nation is deindustrialized and dependent on foreign goods that are being tariffed/sanctioned across the board.
And that peacenik, Trump, going after Yemen while threatening Russia with sanctions and Iran with oblivion. Does anyone in his posse ask what business of it is his? Where, exactly, in the US Constitution is the Executive mandated to militarily threaten nations engaged in oil trade? Or, the bombing of Yemen: what is the rationale for destroying a nation that is not going after your merchant marine ships (you have none), and JD Vance saying we are doing it for Europe. That’s BS, we are doing it for Israel.
That being the case, some questions are in order. Suppose Kamala had won, say the trans vote carried her over the top. She would then be beholden to the trans faction. Instead, Trump (with my vote), won. So who or what is Trump beholden to? Zionist money, and Israel is a weird bird. Prominent rabbis in Israel justify Gaza slaughter because scripture speaks of a 2nd Coming . . . after a coordinated attack by neighboring countries. Christ’s return only happens after Israel has been punished. That’s as strange as arguing with trans ideology. As for Trump’s behavior, were he to go directly against Israel as “God’s Chosen” or The Rapture, he would be the anti-Christ.
Israeli elites maintain, that rather than define its borders and give Arabs the vote, it might rather let loose its 200/400 nuclear weapons, the stakes are high. And, relying on an, orange haired, game show host, to save the world raises the stakes even higher.
Consider the importance of the leak on Yemen, not as a security breach, but what was not talked about. Nowhere in Western media is discussion about what Yemen/Iran are doing? They are assumed to be terrorists. What if, instead, they act from principle? Yemen hadn’t launched a rocket since the cease fire, but they had made it clear Israel had broken the cease fire. So, Trump launched bombast/assaults on Yemen, as he supported in Gaza: if hostages were’t released by Saturday, hell would rain down. Doesn’t Trump know that over 10 years, the Saudis, backed/refueled by the US, destroyed 45,000 Yemeni buildings. Where’s Trump going to get some hell beyond that? Unfortunately, were he serious, that would involve nuclear weapons. And, there are not tactical nuclear weapons. The use of nuclear weapons is a Hiroshima strategy.
Everybody in Trump’s camp says Yemen is all about Iran. Iran just said no to Trump’s demands: get rid of missile program, quit supporting the resistance, no nuclear program (peaceful). Did you know that since 2003 Iran has no nuclear bomb program? Trump knows this because of the US Intelligence reports on the subject each and every year. So, what’s Trump doing? All those B2 bombers at Diego Garcia. A bluff to get Iran to capitulate? What happens if Russia says no to each of Witkoff’s bargaining chips (he’s a real estate guy who thinks the buyer moves a bit, along with the seller). What happens if he’s just kind of a nice guy who knows nothing at all about Putin and Russia?
Be that as it may, Trump has some biggies to solve. Come to terms with a notion to put China in its place economically/militarily. Deal with Zionism without bankrupting the US or starting a war. And, accede to tough Russian demands for Ukrainian peace. If Trump is not aimed in that direction, his domestic mission will result in small potatoes. Somebody said the US, like China, can re-industrialize and MAGA. China was hungry & long-time humiliated. US is divided & woke. Does that portend some economic miracle?
If Trump turns out to be a 2 trick pony (tariffs/regime change), we are screwed. If, in his final assessment he sees Taiwan and Israel an unsinkable aircraft carriers he has to have, we’re screwed. Attacking Iran for the sake of Israel, thinking Iran (like Syria), is weak and without missile defense, we say goodbye to 2 sinkable carrier groups. There’s a big divide as to whether Trump will bring about peace or cause mayhem. This question is best analyzed by comparing the Global South and the West (US).
There’s confusion about Russia intervening on the side of Iran—if Iran is attacked. That’s because nations within BRICS are not allies, but partners: each a sovereign nation with security guarantees. As independent nations they make their own decisions. The US Empire has no partners. The US mission is to divide and conquer. To make peace, Trump has to overcome that paradigm, as it exists around him and within himself. Does he recognize sovereignty, or does he just play at winners and losers? We don’t know if Trump’s impetus to end the Ukrainian war Ukraine comes from humanitarianism or the desire to get out of a quagmire, freeing him to conduct genocide w/ Bibi, likely involving the US going to war with Iran . . . for reasons not grounded in reality.
Unfortunately, we find ourselves in an age-old contention between we who want to be left alone and those who will never leave us alone. Britain is a great example. They’ve had more prime ministers over a few months than I remember the names of (but each a warmonger), on board with the defeat, breakup of Russia, China, and Iran.
For peace, will Trump take on the West? Even in utter defeat (Ukraine), the West does not desist – doubling down on perpetual war propaganda. When citizens have had enough, elites take them to war, killing off the young, leaving no one to oppose them. One thing is certain, Trump hates losers, whether Jeb Bush or Zelensky. Let me speculate why Trump (living in his 1976 reality), may prove more dangerous than Obama/Biden. Trump’s ego is far more potent than Joe’s autopen or Obama’s teleprompter. He tends towards grandiosity, and he might think he can do to Iran what he’s doing to Yemen, so as to scare the crap out of anyone who thinks he won’t.
If Trump is not a man of peace, he is playing us. Re-gifting UKR with intelligence (some weapons), along with buster bombs for Bibi, is a tell. And his push, to quickly reinstate tax cuts for the rich will play out as they did before. 10s 0f 1000s $ in saving for elites, and that same $70 for the rest of us.
