What was believed to be a slow year for airline passenger freak-outs has taken a turn in favor of the content. Since March, at least three newsworthy instances have taken place.

The first occurred after a Southwest Airlines passenger stripped herself naked while screaming, forcing the flight to return to the gate. The second was when a “possessed” man swallowed a Rosary and attacked flight attendants. The third occurred even before the offender boarded the plane.

According to the New York Post:

A woman at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport stripped down mid-argument this week in a head-turning moment, joining a growing trend of in-flight and in-airport undressings.

In viral videos filmed by a bystander and shared widely on social media, the topless woman, wearing only white underwear, black shoes and shiny hoop earrings, was seen pacing around Spirit Airlines gate G12.

As seen in the primary clip, posted by @onlyinfloridaa on Instagram, the woman seemed to be arguing with a man who attempted to return the clothes she had taken off. In another video shared on the same account, a police officer stood beside the man and handed the bare-breasted woman a black T-shirt, which she put on.

All she had to do was show up and keep her clothes on while being only mildly polite until landing. That was too much for her, and now she has become an internet meme.

It’s unclear why society must suddenly grapple with a new fear of becoming the victim of these unwarranted incidents, but that is the reality we live in. If this isn’t proof of why we must never affirm mental illness, then nothing is.

This is not the first time a Spirit Airlines passenger was caught doing something like this, and it most definitely won’t be the last.
