Considering the mess he has been making of California, it would seem that no one could be a worse choice for governor than Gavin Newsom. Yet look who is leading in the polls to replace him:

Here’s a tough question: who would vote for a Democrat so inept that he cannot even handle questions from the liberal establishment media, which is essentially on his side?

It’s as if Xavier Becerra were afraid he would make a fool of himself — like this:

There is a sensible alternative: Steve Hilton. But Hilton is too sane to prevail in California, just as Spencer Pratt is too sane to prevail against the godawful Karen Bass in Los Angeles.

This is the same state that gave us two terms of Governor Ronald Reagan. Strike that; it is not the same state. The erstwhile Golden State has undergone what Barack Obama would call a “fundamental transformation.”

But who knows? Maybe California can be transformed back before it irrevocably succumbs to the Democrat Death Spiral.
