Although he may have left us, the mission that Charlie Kirk started is far from over.

In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking huge steps to empower students to seek truth and advocate for true American values, just like Charlie did in his lifetime.

Today, DeSantis announced that Florida is partnering with Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, in order to enable every public high school to establish its own chapter for students.

It’s so nice to see a governor advocating for open debate and helping students pursue critical thinking — which is such a rare, but very important, skill to have in these times.

Not only will the winner of the new ‘Charlie Kirk Prize’ be awarded $50,000, but runner-ups will also get a nice sum of scholarship change.

Fox 13 News has more details:

On Monday, DeSantis announced that the prize for winning the Speech and Debate Championship will be named in honor of Charlie Kirk.

The winner will also get a $50,000 scholarship. The runner-up will receive a $25,000 scholarship, the semi-finalist will receive a $15,000 scholarship and the four quarter-finalists will receive a $10,000 scholarship.

DeSantis said the winners can use those scholarships at any school in the country. Both the winner and the runner-up will receive invitations to attend the National Ronald Reagan Debate in California.

“Maybe you will get out of your comfort zone and question your own assumptions and maybe see things a little bit differently. There’s a lot of value in critical thinking,” said Governor DeSantis.

The governor also announced a partnership with Turning Point to ensure that anybody in high school that wants to start a Club America chapter will be able to do so.

Absolutely amazing.

More states should follow suit!
