Washington Examiner commentary writer Tiana Lowe Doescher assessed the media’s “tired” bias against President Donald Trump on Inauguration Day, which she argued is failing to resonate with viewers going into the next four years.

CNN’s coverage of Trump’s inauguration featured a senior reporter stating that Trump used his signature “lie-a-minute style” during an unscripted speech at one of his inaugural celebrations, which Doescher assessed was the network attempting to “recycle some of the old motifs” it has used on Trump over the years. She also noted how some outlets, as well as Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), attempted to frame the decision to move Trump’s inauguration indoors as due to concerns about how many would watch the event.

“It’s tired, it’s not working,” Doescher said on Fox News at Night. “If you see Marco Rubio confirmed unanimously in the Senate, Laken Riley Act got 12 Democrats, well beyond what Republicans were even expecting in their internal whip count. The fact is, if you dial up the outrage to 11 over factual ‘lie-a-minute’ cycle, people are just going to get tired, and at this point, they’re past it. The Left has lost the culture war.”

Doescher also said many billionaires, including Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos, no longer have a reason to “play ball” with the Democratic Party going forward because previous attempts to work with the party still left them “smeared.” Zuckerberg announced earlier this month that Meta will be ditching its fact-checking system and instead utilize a community notes feature similar to what is used on X.

The continual slant against Trump by “liberal groupthink media,” Doescher argued, has resulted in networks such as CNN and MSNBC losing their audience, which has now made podcast host Joe Rogan “the normal, liberal pundit” of the media. Rogan hosted Trump on his show ahead of the 2024 election, one of several podcasts Trump appeared on to reach out to younger voters.

Rogan was one of the guests at Trump’s inauguration and was spotted sitting near Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD). Comedian Theo Von, another podcast host who interviewed Trump, was also present for the inauguration.

Last week, former MSNBC President Rashida Jones announced that she would step down from her position and would stay with the network in an advisory role until March. MSNBC also announced that network anchor Rachel Maddow will return to a five-night weekly schedule for Trump’s first 100 days in office.
