(NewsNation) — Police have video of the shooter who killed conservative political activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University yesterday.

Kirk was shot and killed while speaking before a crowd at the university as he debated college students on politics.

Authorities say the single shot was fired from a rooftop and the shooter then jumped off the building and fled the campus through a neighborhood. A weapon was recovered, a bolt-action rifle that was found in the woods.

Utah Dept of Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason said police do have good video of the suspect but have not released the footage or the identity of the suspect.

Investigators are asking anyone in the neighborhood to share security or doorbell camera footage to assist in the investigation.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls said investigators are not commenting on whether they have determined the identity of the suspect.

“The suspect blended in well with the community,” Bohls said, noting the suspect appeared to be of college age.

Investigators said they are not sure how far the suspect may have fled at this time.
