As you’ve probably heard by now, President Trump shared a very controversial photo on Truth Social last night.

The AI-generated image appeared to show President Trump as a “Jesus-like” figure, healing the sick.

Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the image:

This photo sparked a wave of fury among conservatives.

Almost immediately, the internet was on fire!

Many Christians blasted President Trump, calling the image blasphemous.

After all the backlash, President Trump deleted the post.

Later, he clarified that he did not intend to portray himself as Jesus Christ, as many were saying.

“I thought it was me as a doctor,” he said.

Now, Vice President JD Vance is backing up President Trump.

During an appearance on Fox News tonight, VP Vance was asked to respond to the controversy.

He chalked it up to a misunderstanding, noting that President Trump intended the post as a “joke,” but people misinterpreted it.

Watch what Vance had to say here for yourself:

JUST NOW — JD VANCE on Trump’s deleted post after religious backlash: “He doesn’t send everything through a communications professional.”

“The president was posting a joke and of course he took it down because he recognized that a lot of people weren’t understanding his humor in that case.”

“I think the president of the United States likes to mix it up on social media, and I actually think that’s one of the good things about this president is that he’s not filtered.”

Sometimes jokes fall flat, even for our president (even though it’s rare for Trump)!
