If this election has made anything clear, it’s that the information of gatekeepers of yesteryear no longer hold the power they did in days gone by.

They are in the process of losing another one of the information bottlenecks they’ve been exploiting to prop up the political left. We now live in a day and age where podcasts, live streams and social media influence is packing a bigger cultural punch (not to mention reach) than yesterday’s news media.

Why shouldn’t the old media press access step aside for the new in the same way that print media has given way to online content, or old news methods (news reels and radio) gave way to television and live streaming?

After the ‘news’ media spent the last election cycle hyperventilating about ‘literally Hitler’ comparisons, the nefarious dangers of the ‘2025 Project’, and spinning all kinds of horror stories about how MAGA was coming to take away peoples’ rights — including inter-racial marriage. They KNEW they were lying. Look farther than the incoming Second Lady to prove it. But they were trying to scare the public into voting for THEIR candidate.

The monopoly the White House Press corps has enjoyed until now — by which they curated who was even given a chance to ask questions of the current administration is coming to a close. Under Trump, we will be seeing new media representation in the press gallery.

As of last week, Axios was reporting on the tension between Trump wanting to allow fresh faces in while the White House Correspondent’s Association jealously guards who does (and does NOT) get access to the James Brady Press Briefing Room.

At least two media executives who run MAGA-aligned news outlets — one in streaming and one in text — told Axios they plan to apply for credentials that would give them access to White House press briefings.

The briefing room currently seats 49 reporters across an array of outlets. Any efforts to expand access to daily press briefings to pro-Trump outlets, such as Steve Bannon’s War Room, would need to come at the expense of existing outlets.
Seat assignments tend to flux marginally with each new administration. But the most visible seats in the front have historically been reserved for bigger TV networks that air clips from the briefing room regularly.
Yes, but: The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) has control over seating, but the White House determines press credentials. — Axios

What most of Americans would NOT know is that the WHCA has no explicit authority to exercise the monopoly powers it has insisted it can exert. One of the reporters they deliberately excluded has set up a rival organization to challenge that monopoly.

Biblical Badasses: The Women

In Doug Giles’ latest book, Biblical Badasses: The Women, Giles spotlights ten epic ladies who did awesome things for God with the odds severely stacked against them. These girls weren’t your typical church ladies. They were holy movers and shakers who upset hell with their God-honoring, faith-filled, lives. Giles’ unique take on these terrific women makes the scripture come alive. This book is real, raw, relevant, and irreverent. Giles’ prayer is that after reading, Biblical Badasses: The Women, not only will your noggin be filled with these amazing tales of high and lows from real women who rocked in a hard place, via the power of God, but that you will get off your butt, quit pursuing stupidity, start chasing down your high calling and at the end of your life, you too, like the holy femme fatales featured herein, will have left a massive scar on Satan’s haggard backside.
