America’s comeback under President Trump is moving at full throttle, and the man simply refuses to pump the brakes.

From border security to economic revival, Trump’s America First agenda is touching practically every corner of American life.

This from thepatriotjournal.com.

He has a comprehensive plan that is reshaping how government works for the people who built this nation—the American citizens who live by the rules.

And nowhere is Trump’s commitment to American workers more evident than in his relentless focus on jobs. Good jobs. American jobs. The kinds of jobs which enable families to put food on the table without needing government handouts. Trump wants hardworking Americans in those positions—and he is systematically closing loopholes that have allowed illegal aliens to take what rightfully belongs to legal residents.

That is exactly what is happening with Trump’s latest executive order which he signed Monday afternoon. The order will ensure those behind the wheel of commercial trucks on American highways can actually speak English—a requirement that, believe it or not, has been on the books but rarely enforced for years.

From ‘White House document on the executive order’:

President Trump believes that English is a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers, as they should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officers, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station personnel, and provide and receive feedback and directions in English.

And this order is not just about safety (though that is reason enough). It is also about pushing illegal aliens out of yet another industry they have increasingly infiltrated. Commercial trucking provides good wages and benefits—exactly the type of jobs to which Americans should have access without competing against those who broke the law to be here.

The trucker shortage we have been hearing about for years? Perhaps it would not be such a problem if companies were not bypassing qualified Americans in favor of cheaper labor willing to skirt the rules. Trump’s order cleverly addresses this by focusing on an existing requirement that few could argue against:

The ability to read road signs and

communicate during emergencies.

Under the new directive, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will strengthen inspection procedures to verify English proficiency and ensure drivers who cannot meet this basic requirement are placed “out-of-service.” Translation? If you cannot speak English, you cannot drive a commercial truck in America. Period.

This is not the president’s first move to restore English to its proper place in American society. In March, he signed an executive order establishing English as the official language of the United States—a common-sense move that most Americans have supported for decades.

That March order declared that establishing English as the official language would:

[S]treamline communication,

reinforce shared national values,

and create a more cohesive and efficient society.

Trump is simply connecting the dots between policy and practice. If English is our official language, it makes perfect sense those operating 80,000-pound vehicles through our communities should be able to understand and communicate in that language.

What makes Trump different from his predecessors is his insistence that rules actually be enforced. The federal standard requiring commercial drivers to speak English has existed for years, but as the White House document noted, it “has not been enforced.” While previous administrations were busy printing government forms in dozens of languages, they could not be bothered to enforce basic safety standards on our highways.

Secretary Duffy is not merely being directed to remind people about the rule—he is being ordered to revise the “out-of-service criteria” to ensure violators are removed from service. Additionally, Duffy will evaluate protocols for authenticating commercial driver’s licenses, addressing another potential avenue for fraud.

The order also directs improvements to working conditions for truck drivers through “additional administrative, regulatory, or enforcement actions.” In other words, Trump is looking out for the legitimate truck drivers who follow the rules while cracking down on those who do not belong behind the wheel in the first place.
