President Donald Trump announced on Sunday night that Dan Bongino, a political commentator who hosts The Dan Bongino Show and a former Secret Service agent, will serve as deputy director of the FBI.

In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump praised Bongino as “a man of incredible love and passion for our Country” and called the announcement “Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice!”

Bongino is set to serve directly under FBI Director Kash Patel, who faced a tough confirmation battle and was sworn in late last week.
