Without burying our readers in the minutia of the examples of sustained low-level agitation and violence we’ll stick to the major headline stories from the past week or so.

1) Trump’s Second Assassination attempt is back in the news this week.

The guy who waited with a gun at Mar-A-Lago has received his sentence.

Today, Ryan Wesley Routh, 59, was sentenced to life plus 84 months in federal prison for the attempted assassination of then-presidential candidate Donald J. Trump and related violent and firearms offenses. U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon for the Southern District of Florida imposed the sentence following Routh’s conviction by a federal jury on all five counts charged in the indictment.

“Ryan Routh’s heinous attempted assassination of President Trump was not only an attack on our President — it was a direct assault against our entire democratic system,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Thanks to our prosecutors in the National Security Division and the Southern District of Florida, Routh will never walk free again.”

“Routh’s plan to kill a major presidential candidate, President Donald Trump, was a despicable attack on our democratic system,” said FBI Director Kash Patel. “Thanks to the work of the FBI and our Justice Department partners, he will pay a high price for his actions. Today’s sentencing demonstrates the justice system will not tolerate such heinous attacks.”

“Routh attempted to assassinate President Trump and thereby cast our Nation into what would have been one of its darkest periods,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg. “Today’s sentence is a resounding rejection of political violence and a clear reminder that we resolve our differences through civil discourse, democratic elections, and lawful protest, not by force.” — DOJ

2) The Antifa guy who encouraged people to bring guns and target ICE is no longer on the run

From the DOJ’s own site:

Self-identified Antifa member Kyle Wagner was arrested today on federal threat and cyberstalking charges following alleged murder and assault threats against ICE, announced United States Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. Wagner, 37 of Minneapolis, is expected to make an initial appearance in federal court today.

“This man allegedly doxxed and called for the murder of law enforcement officers, encouraged bloodshed in the streets, and proudly claimed affiliation with the terrorist organization Antifa before going on the run,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Today’s arrest illustrates that you cannot run, you cannot hide, and you cannot evade our federal agents: if you come for law enforcement, the Trump Administration will come for you.”
[…]
According to the criminal complaint, Wagner has escalated his opposition to ICE operations, including conspiring and threatening to assault federal law enforcement officers in Minneapolis. In January 2026, Wagner repeatedly posted on Facebook and Instagram encouraging his followers to forcibly confront, assault, impede, oppose, and resist federal officers whom he referred to as the “gestapo” and “murderers.”

On January 8, 2026, Wagner posted a video directly threatening ICE agents by stating, “I’ve already bled for this city, I’ve already fought for this city, this is nothing new, we’re ready this time, ICE we’re f—ing coming for you.” The following day, Wagner posted about the “constant harassment of ICE” and said that “we need to continue that, but we also need to cripple them.” Wagner then advocated for physical confrontation, stating, “Anywhere we have an opportunity to get our hands on them, we need to put our hands on them.”

Wagner also urged others to “hunt” ICE, including those who are “armed” to “fight [ICE]. This is kill or be killed.” He described agitators’ “goal [ ] to unmask and identify [ICE] agents – stop their ability to arrest individuals through group resistance.” On January 10, 2026, Wagner asserted that “we are at f—– war” and stated, “So, either we’re going to win, or I will die in this process.” On January 13, 2026, Wagner praised the success of the agitators’ anti-ICE efforts, stating, “This is where ICE has come to die” and then threatened ICE agents, “We want to know who they are. We will identify every single one of them and we will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. If it has to be done at the barrel of a gun, then let us have a little f—— fun.”

On January 24, 2026, Wagner stated that he was “not talking about peaceful protests anymore.” And urged violence against federal officers: “Get your f—– guns and stop these f—— people.” Wagner also reposted a video where he passed out gas masks and shields to agitators. — DOJ

Dress it up any way you want. What he and others are objecting to are the simple enforcement of laws that have been on the books for decades. The fact that others have shirked the duty to enforce those laws does not negate the laws themselves. As Homan often says, if you dislike the laws he is enforcing, have Congress draw up new laws. Until such a time, he has a job to do.

But guys like Wagner are using literal revolutionary tactics to wage war against the lawful execution of laws, and Dems hide behind his skirt because guys like him are advancing causes and pushing violence they aren’t (openly) allowed to push themselves.

Folks like Data Republican and her fellow digital warriors have been hunting and exposing the groups organizing a Marxist agenda with (to some degree) Chinese Communist money.

Their story here. It’s long but important in understanding the nature of the conflict we are in.

We’ll count all of what was exposed there among the second point, even if high-ranking Dems keep finding themselves implicated in it.

3. Would-be Assassin targets Trump OMB director

A Maryland man who said he feared that President Trump’s reelection would lead to a “fascist takeover” is facing attempted murder charges, after he showed up at Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought’s Northern Virginia home, wearing a surgical mask and gloves, according to court documents and sources familiar with the matter.

Colin Demarco, 26, was arrested on Jan. 22 by Arlington County Police on several criminal charges, court records show. He is due to appear in court on Feb. 23.

During the course of the investigation, agents with the U.S. Marshals Service also discovered that Demarco had previously claimed to be writing a manifesto and that he had also drafted a series of notes detailing everything from a weapons stash to a “Body Disposal Guide.”

The court records show that Demarco is accused of plotting to murder a victim with the initials “R.V.” who, according to the criminal complaint, “has served as a presidential appointee.”

The complaint adds that the alleged victim was involved in the creation of Project 2025 — a project funded by the conservative Heritage Foundation- to produce a policy agenda for the next GOP administration. It called for a radical reshaping of the government in ways that consolidate power in the executive branch. — CBSNews

For anyone who might not have been terminally online during the 2024 campaign like those of us who have to pass it along to the rest of you, there’s an interesting detail in here. ‘Project 2025’.

That was the big, scary Boogeyman the Dems, their Media supplicants, and the perpetual activist class were desperate to make the ordinary voter deliriously afraid of. It was neither more nor less than one of those Conservative wish lists that serve as the political inverse of, for instance, AOC’s Green New Deal.

Trump had his own platform, and he was pretty clear about distancing himself between what he was going to take ownership of, and wish lists from various conservative groups, however well-meaning they were.

This clown took the scare tactics too literally. Just like he did the endless claims of ‘Nazi’, ‘fascist’ and ‘authoritarian’.

This is absolutely the level of panic the Dems want for their GetOutTheVote efforts (and to intimidate anyone who dares raise a flag for the other team). But when your lies whip up this kind of a frenzy, don’t be surprised when the gullible, the easily provoked, or the otherwise mentally/morally unstable among their emotion-frenzied followers do something catastrophically stupid and drastic.

It’s easy to blame a few fringe agitators for this… unless you recall what Dems were saying about their own base last summer, even to a comparatively friendly news outlet like Axios.

They saw their own people as ‘disposable’ so long as they could get the kind of martyr around which an activist cause can organize.

They’ll almost literally eat their own so long as it can secure a political ‘win’.

And who can forget the polling about the acceptability of political violence?

Some 38% of the total respondents said it would be “somewhat justified” to murder President Trump, while 31% said the same about Elon Musk. However, for those self-identifying in that group who were more left-leaning, those numbers grew to 48% and 55%, respectively.

It was the left, not the right, that indicated almost 50% support to murder in cold blood someone with whom you disagreed politically. And they never seem to stop to ask themselves whether THEY are the ones who have been drinking political Kool Aid.

It’s always the other guy, even if he’s so bad we need to murder him to be rid of him.

For those of you (right or left) who find yourselves sympathetic to the bullets-not-ballots philosophy….
Does that SOUND like rational thinking?

No, really… do you really think so?

Because really, it isn’t.
