Many of the same leftists who insist that the families — particularly the young children — of politicians should be off limits are celebrating the disruptive demonstrators who forced the family of Vice President JD Vance to go into hiding during a recent vacation.

The incident occurred after Vance participated in a tense White House meeting with Ukrainian leader Volodymir Zelenskyy.

According to reports, the Vances were taken to an “undisclosed location” in response to the protest. For leftist “Star Trek” actor George Takei, however, the demonstration was not only justified but worthy of praise.

As Breitbart reported:

“Protestors met JD Vance in Vermont when he went to vacation there today,” Takei wrote in a Saturday post on the leftist echo chamber social media platform Bluesky, adding, “This is a good one,” and sharing a photo of a protestor holding a sign that read, “VANCE IS A TRAITOR, GO SKI IN RUSSIA.”

As Breitbart News reported, Vance and his family were moved to an “undisclosed location” on Saturday, after they were met with pro-Ukrainian protesters outside of a ski resort in Vermont.

This comes after the political left had a collective meltdown in response to President Donald Trump and Vance putting down Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after he dismissed the effectiveness of American diplomacy.

Notably, Democrat lawmakers, mainstream media journalists, celebrities, and other Ukrainian sycophants took to social media, where they parroted the same anti-Trump and anti-Vance talking points and spun the narrative as to how Fridays meeting with Zelensky unfolded.

While Takei and others on the left-leaning social media platform Bluesky cheered on the pro-Ukraine, anti-Vance protesters, much of the reaction on X was decidedly less supportive of the display:

The New York Post covered the lead-up to the protest and subsequent response:

Counter-protesters also had their voices heard. Pickup trucks with “Make America Great Again” flags were spotted driving down Main Street in Waitsfield. Another group of counter-protesters got into a shouting match with anti-Vance folks outside the Sugarbush Resort.

Vance and his family scrapped their plans for staying at a nearby four-star inn, instead fleeing to an “undisclosed location” following the intense protests outside the resort.

The protests got so heated that a handful of demonstrators even camped out by a ski lift near where they thought the Vances were skiing.

These protests were planned earlier in the week, but took on new intensity following the Oval Office dispute in which the Ukrainian leader got into an intense public argument with both Vance and President Trump while visiting to finalize a mineral rights deal.  The deal was scrapped and Zelensky reportedly was ejected from the White House.

Last week, Vermont Republican Gov. Phil Scott urged protesters to take into consideration that Vance would be traveling to the state.
