Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.

Happy Sunday, dear friends! Is July treating you all gently? Summer was always my favorite when I was a kid and loved being outside even when hot. Now I’d rather sit in the shade with a good book, soft music and a tall glass or two of something iced. Dears, you’ll find not only our usual chilled champagne, but some freshly mixed Long Island Iced Teas or Hard Lemonade to go along with our brunch offerings. French toast, assorted summer fruits, even delicious sorbets. Something to enjoy while we review a week chockful of Leftwing lunacy and bad intentions. Who knew that Democrats far and wide depend on their artisanal pot being handpicked by trafficked children? Oh, the poor dears. Pass the plates, fill your glasses and let’s get to it. L’Chaim!

That thing that never happens …

… and which legacy media will ignore

Nine suspects, including multiple Democrat officials, were indicted last week on voter fraud charges as part of an ongoing state-led election integrity investigation headed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, KSAT Investigates reported. Seven of the 9 suspects reportedly turned themselves in to the county jail last week.

A judicial district attorney confirmed the indictments, according to KSAT. These newly charged nine join six charged in early May, creating a group of 15 total suspects. Among them are several Pearsall Council Members, a Frio County judge, and two former local mayors, in addition to the former Democrat House candidate.

This isn’t some lone-wolf malcontent who steals a few mail-in ballots. These are people with political clout, people already inside the system.

But voter integrity isn’t a real issue, right?

You don’t say! Who would have predicted it?

Don’t worry, the portside reprobates will be cheering hard for any economic downturn that comes along. American success chaps their backsides.

Plotting against the President

As someone else has pointed out, when the Left screams they want to “Save Democracy” they really are saying “Save Bureaucracy”. This is the revolt of the Deep Administrative State. Can we say “insurrection”? Why, yes we can.

It’s the eyes, you know,

AWFL’s all have the same eyes.

Bringing Seattle to the nation

Geez, bad enough that Newsom lusts for the Presidency so he can Californicate the nation, but in the meantime a couple of Democrat Congresscriters would inflict the Seattle model on the whole nation.

Washington Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Florida Democrat Rep. Maxwell Frost have a new bill that would export the disastrous homelessness policies of Seattle to the entire nation.

Their “Housing Not Handcuffs Act” would effectively give a green light to the homeless encampments, crime and public health crises that have crippled cities like Seattle, all under the guise of compassion. (snip)

So-called “life-sustaining activities” includes “moving, resting, sitting, standing, lying down, sleeping, protecting oneself and personal property from the elements, eating, and drinking.” In other words, your local park, plazas, and even post office parking lots could become permanent residence zones for homeless drug addicts, with local authorities powerless to intervene.

This is no accident, dears. Or even mistaken compassion. This is about intimidating and demoralizing the normies with chaos they will not be legally allowed to deal with.

Now, then, about MacArthur Park

How can you tell Karen Bass is lying? Her lips are moving.

Sunday palate cleanser

I recall the Kipling verse that starts …
“If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,”

Indeed.

Your Sunday smile

Continue to keep Texas in your prayers and for the safety of all first responders and volunteers. Thank you, Lord, for Scott and everyone like him.

Oh my. Is it just me, dears, or did this Sunday fly by faster than usual? Half way through July with August, the Rodney Dangerfield month, dead ahead. Do go out and enjoy the rest of your Sunday and let’s meet back here next week. Cheers!
