We’re back today for another great Sunday afternoon message from our good friend Pastor Robb Goodman.
Today’s message:
Our Fight Against Witchcraft & Sorcery
The title of today’s Sunday message is, Our Fight Against Witchcraft & Sorcery.
Today Witchcraft is still being used; and the body of Christ must know how to deal with this evil force of Satan. Who does Witchcraft and scorceries affect you. How do use our God given authority to dismantle it’s power. How does Witchcraft affect our Federal government system? We will talk about these things today in our message. May God bless you as you join our teaching today.

FULL TRANSCRIPT:
Good morning, everyone. Today is Sunday.
I am Pastor Rob Goodman, and I am the senior lead pastor here at Zion Freedom Fellowship in Maryland, in the good old United States of America. Amen and amen. God is good.
He’s given us a beautiful day on Saturday as I’m recording this message. I trust that tomorrow will be the same. I’m very happy that my Baltimore Orioles won their first game of the season against the Minnesota Twins. We had tremendous pitching, some good hitting, and it was a really nice game.
So I will watch that. A new game starts today in a couple of hours.
All right, let’s get into the scripture today. Amen. Let’s pray and open up with the Word of God, and I will share the title of today’s message with you. Praise be to God.
Heavenly Father, we praise you and we thank you, Lord, that your word is quick, it’s powerful, it’s alive. It’s sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces to the division of our soul and spirit, to the joints and the marrow.
It’s a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of our heart. Lord, you know everything that we’re thinking. You know everything that moves us, everything that touches us. You know every feeling that we have.
And Lord, you want to rule over our soulish nature. So Lord, I ask you as I share this word today that you would speak peace to your people. That you would teach them how to stand against the wiles of the enemy and the evil one.
Lord, these days are filled with evil that we’re living in right now. It’s in our government. It’s our local governments. It’s everywhere we turn. But praise be to God, Jesus has overcome Satan and all his demons.
When he died on that cross, he defeated Satan. He went down into hell and rose again from the dead because he was not guilty of death. He was not guilty of anything.
And the scripture says, “Had the princes of this world had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Amen. If they had known what was going to happen, they would not have put Jesus to death.
But God is always willing to pull a fast one on the enemy, right? And he’s always smarter and faster than the evil people in this world. Evil man thinks he can stand against God, but I’m telling you right now, there is no man that can stand before the Lord our God.
No man, no devil, no demon in hell, no Satan can stand before our God because our God is mighty and our God is strong, and he is the King of glory. Jesus is the King of glory. He’s the King of kings and the Lord of lords, and we give him all praise and honor and glory.
Lord, have your way with this message today. Speak to the hearts of your people, Lord. Encourage them. Lift them up. Raise them up, Lord. Whatever circumstance they find themselves in, I ask you, Lord, to raise them up quickly and lift them up.
Lift their feet up out of the miry clay and set their feet upon a rock. Lord, you are faithful, and whatever you promise, you will fulfill in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen and amen. Glory be to God.
It’s a pleasure to have you here with us today, and I’m so glad that you can join us. The title of today’s message is “Our Fight Against Witchcraft and Sorcery.”
The Bible strongly condemns witchcraft, sorcery, and divination as abominations that provoke God’s anger, often associating them with idolatry and rebellion. Key scriptures prohibit consulting mediums or spirits, listing witchcraft as a work of the flesh that prevents people from inheriting the kingdom of God.
Yes, the scripture calls witchcraft a work of the flesh in Galatians. So we overcome the flesh by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. We are able to overcome any evil, especially when it’s of the flesh.
How do we defeat our flesh? We crucify it. Amen. We crucify our flesh and we bring it into the kingdom of God and make it obey. Amen.
Divination is the art or practice of using omens, rituals, or supernatural powers to foretell future events, discover hidden knowledge, or interpret the will of spirits or deities. It involves interpreting signs, such as astrology or tarot card reading, to gain insight into personal dilemmas or uncertain situations.
You know what? We just need to trust God. Our God knows everything. There isn’t anything that he does not know.
When the prophets went to the Lord and asked him what to do, he answered them. It’s no different today. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.”
So we hear Jesus’ voice. He is our great High Shepherd, and we hear his voice. Amen. Everyone can hear the voice of the Holy Spirit or Jesus speaking to us through the Word of God and through his Holy Spirit. Praise be to God.
Let’s look at Deuteronomy chapter 18. I think we’re going to start at verse 9.
When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of these nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer.
One who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead—for all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord. Because of these abominations, the Lord your God drives them out from before you.
You shall be blameless before the Lord your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listen to soothsayers and diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not appointed such for you.
And verse 15 says, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren, him you shall hear.”
Now this is Moses talking. This great prophet that Moses is speaking about is the Lord Jesus Christ. He was speaking of one who would come in the future, the Son of the living God, Jesus Christ, the Messiah for the whole nation of Israel and for the whole world.
That is amazing. Absolutely amazing.
And the Lord said, “What they have spoken is good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brethren and will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.”
And it shall be that whoever will not hear my words, which he speaks in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.
And if you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?”—when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken.
You shall not be afraid of him.
And that’s a small “h” there, so we’re talking about man—prophets or women prophets, prophets and prophetesses. Amen. Praise be to God. God is so faithful. He is so, so good.
All right, let’s go to Exodus chapter 22. Exodus chapter 22.
Exodus chapter 22, and we are going to look at verse 18.
Wow, this is powerful right here. You shall not permit a sorceress to live. Plain and simple.
You know, remember when God told Saul through the prophet Samuel to go and wipe out Agag, all the women and all the children. He told him to kill every one of them. But here again, Saul decided that he was not going to obey the Lord.
And he thought, “Well, we’ll keep some of these for offerings to the Lord.” Well, the Lord didn’t want offerings from those things. They were unclean. They were unclean offerings. They were offering strange fire to the Lord, and that’s not a good thing.
You and I, whatever we offer to the Lord, it must be holy, pure, and sanctified—separated unto the Lord. Plain and simple. That simple.
There are all kinds of people out there this day saying that you need to follow the law, you need to do this, you need to do that. No, you don’t. You do not.
You need to obey the Lord Jesus Christ and the words that he spoke and the words that the apostles and prophets spoke. And yes, even the Word of God in the old covenant—we can obey it. Amen.
Amen.
Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death. He who sacrifices to any god, except to the Lord only, shall be utterly destroyed.
You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.
If you afflict them in any way and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry, and my wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword. Your wives shall be widows, and your children shall be fatherless.
If you lend money to any of my people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a money lender to him. You shall not charge him interest.
If you ever take your neighbor’s garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down.
Well, I’m not going to go into this any further because he’s beginning to speak about other issues here. But we know what the Lord says about witchcraft. We know what the Lord says about sorcery.
Let’s look at a few other scriptures. Amen. All right, let’s go to Leviticus chapter 20, and we’re going to read verses 6 and 7.
Leviticus chapter 20, verses 6 and 7.
And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set my face against that person and cut him off from his people.
Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. And you shall keep my statutes and perform them. I am the Lord who sanctifies you.
Wow, that’s powerful right there. That is one powerful scripture verse.
All right, let’s go down to verses 26 and 27.
And you shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.
If a man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, shall surely be put to death—they shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.
You know, God wasn’t messing around. People, witchcraft is a terrible thing.
You know, here in our town of Westminster, over the last year or so, we’ve had tarot card readers, spiritists, sorcerers show up. There’s a couple places in the mall, and there’s a place right down the street from where I live.
We’ve never had that type of thing here before, and yet these people are infiltrating our area. The church better wake up. The church better wake up and begin to pray.
And the only way that you can bring witchcraft down and bring forth revival is through the power of intercessory prayer—by breaking every stronghold, by loosing everything that the enemy tries to place upon us.
You and I overcome. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb. We overcome through Jesus Christ. We overcome in his victory that he purchased for us.
And you and I don’t have to be afraid. We do not have to be afraid. We can overcome and rise up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Amen and amen. Thank you, Lord.
Let’s go to 1 Samuel chapter 15. 1 Samuel chapter 15.
And we’re going to look at verse 23.
“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”
Now this is Samuel, the prophet, the man of God, speaking to King Saul because he did not obey and kill Agag. He did not obey him, and he did not wipe out all the women and children.
This is a serious thing with God, folks. Thank God under the new covenant, because Jesus stripped principalities and powers—he made a show of them openly. He triumphed over them right in the midst of hell.
He broke Satan of his power. Now we live in that. That’s done. It’s been done.
And you may say, “Well, if that’s done, why are there still many children being trafficked and all these things?” Well, you know what? God will one day judge the wicked.
He’ll judge the wicked and all the evildoers that are still trying to practice evil in these days in which we live. You and I—we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us.
He gave himself for us, and we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony. Those are powerful scriptures, folks. Very powerful indeed.
Praise be to God. The Lord is so very faithful. He is so, so faithful.
Let’s go to Micah chapter 5.
Micah chapter 5, and we are going to look at verse 12.
“I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers.”
Think about that. “I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers.”
Your carved images I will also cut off, and your sacred pillars from your midst, and you shall no more worship the work of your hands.
I will pluck your wooden images from your midst. Thus I will destroy your cities, and I will execute vengeance in anger and fury on the nations that have not heard.
Wow, that’s powerful. That is mighty and powerful.
All right, let’s go to Galatians chapter 5. We’re going to start with verse 19.
Now the works of the flesh are evident: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.
Of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Nothing can work against the spiritual fruit that God has put in place. Praise be to God. That is powerful.
Paul says that witchcraft is a work of the flesh—a desire for ungodly power. People use witchcraft because they don’t want to trust God.
They want to go through soothsayers and sorcerers and all these things. They don’t want to seek God for their future. They’d rather walk into a shop and pay money and have somebody lie to them.
“I’m going to look at your tarot cards. I’m going to read your palms. Let me look into my crystal ball.” It’s nonsense.
And you and I need to pray these places down in Jesus’ mighty name, because we have the authority and the power to do that.
And also, please pray for the salvation of these people who practice these things. They need to come to the Lord, and the Lord will receive them into his kingdom if they’re willing to repent and turn from their wicked ways.
All right, let’s go to Revelation chapter 22, verse 15.
“But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.”
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star.”
And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let him who hears say, “Come.” And let him who is thirsty come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
What beautiful words. Come to Jesus. He loves you so much.
Jesus was willing to die on that cross for you because he loved you. He does not want you to spend eternity in hell.
He made a way for your sins to be washed away. That power is in his blood—to cleanse you from every sin.
Thank you, Lord.
Let’s go to Acts 19, verse 19.
“Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all.”
And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
You and I can see the same thing happen. I believe we’re going to see it. We’ve been praying for revival where people will repent of their sin.
Look at the history of revivals—the miraculous things that took place. It was incredible.
Look at what happened at the Azusa Street revival. Arms grew, the blind saw. People walked in missing body parts and walked out healed.
Our God is a mighty God. There is nothing that he cannot do. Trust him and watch what he will do.
Let’s go to Revelation 18, verse 23.
“For by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.”
This speaks of judgment on Babylon. There will be a modern-day Babylon. The Bible makes no distinction between white or black magic—all are considered evil.
Christians are instructed to seek guidance from God, not from mediums or tarot card readers or the dead.
All right, let’s go to 2 Kings chapter 9, verse 22.
“What peace?” he answered. “As long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”
