If confirmed by the full Senate, Stefanik will succeed Linda Thomas-Greenfield as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Her nomination reflects the administration’s focus on reforming international institutions to better serve U.S. interests and ensuring that American contributions are utilized effectively within the U.N. framework.

Stefanik was first elected to Congress in 2014 at the age of 30, making her the youngest woman to join the House at the time. Since then she has spent a decade representing the New York district. She’s served as the fourth-ranking Republican lawmaker in the House.

Since her election, Stefanik has compiled a 100% pro-life voting record in the House, consistently voting to stop abortion funding and the Democrats’ radical abortion agenda.

Stefanik accepted the nomination, saying “I am truly honored to earn President Trump’s nomination to serve in his Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.”

Stefanik said America “continues to be the beacon of the world.”

The newly-minted Republican Senate will vote to confirm her to the post.

“The work ahead is immense as we see antisemitism skyrocketing coupled with four years of catastrophically weak U.S. leadership that significantly weakened our national security and diminished our standing in the eyes of both allies and adversaries,” Stefanik said.

“I stand ready to advance President Donald J. Trump’s restoration of America First peace through strength leadership on the world stage on Day One at the United Nations,“ she said.
