President Biden forced the grieving families of U.S. Marines killed during the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to wait for hours while he napped on Air Force One, multiple Gold Star family members have revealed.
On August 26, 2021, 13 U.S. soldiers and more than 170 Afghans were killed when a suicide bomber detonated at Kabul International Airport’s Abbey Gate in Afghanistan. The attack came during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from the country after the Afghan government collapsed within a matter of days.
Ahead of the dignified transfer ceremony, where President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden welcomed the caskets of the fallen soldiers at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, families were forced to wait for hours after Air Force One touched down. The reason for the delay was rather astonishing, as numerous family members told the Daily Mail that Biden opted to nap on the tarmac as they awaited the remains of their loved ones.

Biden “made us wait an extra three hours to receive the bodies of our dead family members because he couldn’t pull it together,” Roice McCollum, whose brother Rylee was killed in the suicide bombing, told the outlet. A military officer later informed her that Biden was sleeping on the plane, she added.
The account was further confirmed by Darin Hoover, the father of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, and Christy Shamblin, the mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee. Both soldiers were also killed in the bombing.
“We sat in that office for what seemed like an eternity waiting on the doddering old fool,” Hoover told the Daily Mail.

Biden has faced relentless criticism over his handling of the withdrawal and refusal to mention the soldiers who were killed in the Kabul bombing while campaigning.
During the president’s penultimate debate with President-elect Trump this past June, Biden generated outrage when he claimed that no U.S. soldiers have been killed on his watch, completely ignoring the 13 soldiers who were killed. “I knew Afghanistan was going to come up sooner or later,” Hoover told the New York Post at the time.
“You know, the stumbling, bumbling buffoon that we have in the White House had the audacity to say that under his watch that no military members have died.”
“His saying that he thinks of our kids every day is a lie. He’s never even said their names because he doesn’t know them. It was HIS decision to pull out from Afghanistan and do it in the manner that he did. He has blood on his hands and we WILL NOT FORGET, EVER,” he added.
