A man previously deported from the United States and later found back in the country illegally is accused of viciously stabbing a victim in the chest last night on Charlotte’s light-rail system — the same transit line where Iryna Zarutska was murdered just months ago. The attack has reignited outrage over repeat-offender failures and the breakdown of immigration enforcement that allowed a previously removed illegal to return and allegedly commit another act of violent crime.
Another murder on Democrats’ bloody hands. There is no consensus to be reached with people who actively wish for our deaths and then gloat when a monster fulfills that wish.
This is Oscar Solarzano.
A criminal alien who was previously deported and then illegally re-entered the United States.

Man Charged In Light Rail Stabbing Reignites Immigration Fury in Charlotte
By: Newsweek. Dec 06, 2025:
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has identified and charged 33-year-old Oscar Solarzano in a light rail stabbing, months after the city experienced a high-profile attack on the same transport system. The police confirmed to Newsweek by email that the suspect has been charged with five counts, including attempted first-degree murder.
His arrest has sparked online outrage over his immigration status, including from President Donald Trump, who said in a Truth Social post Solarzano is an “illegal migrant.” A Mecklenburg District Court document obtained by Newsweek states that Solarzano is in the country illegally and has been previously deported.
Newsweek reached out to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for comment via email on Saturday.
Why It Matters
The stabbing comes just four months after Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee was stabbed and killed on a Blue Line train in Charlotte. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 34-year-old suspect Decarlos Brown Jr has been charged with her murder.Conversation about Solarzano’s immigration status come weeks after federal immigration agents carried out Operation Charlotte’s Web in mid-November, a sweeping crackdown that drew backlash from residents and city leaders.
Around 4:50 p.m. local time on Friday, law enforcement responded to an emergency call related to an “assault with a deadly weapon,” the police said in statement to Newsweek. The officers on scene discovered a “victim with a stab wound,” and transported them to a local hospital. As of Friday, the individual was in “critical but stable condition,” police said.
In a Saturday update, the police identified Solarzano as the suspect, reporting that he was quickly apprehended by officers and is in custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
He is charged with five counts, including attempted first-degree murder, assault with deadly weapon serious injury and carrying concealed weapon, the police department said. The arrest warrant, reviewed by Newsweek, noted that Solarzano had a “large, fixed blade knife” and “inflicted serious injury.”
The arrest warrant also stated that Solarzano had challenged the victim to a fight, was reportedly “unintelligible” and using “slurred” words. One of his charges is for being “intoxicated and disruptive.”
Solarzano was booked early Saturday, around 8 am local time, and is held with no bond, according to the inmate record locator.
