At least one Congressman is not wasting time in the aftermath of today’s shocking Supreme Court ruling.
Rep. Thomas Massie immediately went to work firing off the most PRACTICAL and COMMON SENSE solution.
If the Supreme Court (and some turncoat Justices — we’ll get to that) want to torpedo President Trump and DOGE’s work cutting off the flow of BILLIONS in wasteful spending…
Rep. Massie suggests the “nuclear” option, so to speak; a solution that the Supreme Court couldn’t undo or reverse.
Congress holds the golden key when it comes to the money spent by the federal government.
And if CONGRESS would just grow a big pair and DO THEIR JOB… (rather than simply applauding DOGE for cutting the pork that THEY VOTED FOR)…
Congress could simply DEFUND USAID, and be done with it.
Leave it to Thomas Massie to say what EVERYONE should be thinking.
The solution to this problem is obvious: Congress must quit sending the damn money to USAID!
Republicans now control the House and Senate, yet here we are facing a vote on a continuing resolution next week that would fund everything in 2025 as it was funded in 2024. https://t.co/RAMlThyy6x

His response was in light of Charlie Kirk’s post sharing a portion of Justice Alito’s DISSENTING opinion after the 5-4 SCOTUS decision was levied against President Trump’s freezing of USAID payouts.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled that President Trump must unfreeze $1.9 billion in foreign USAID payments. Unbelievable.
Justice Samuel Alito BLASTS the majority with Justices Thomas, Gorsuch, and Kavanaugh joining in dissent:
“Does a single district-court judge who… pic.twitter.com/mt8eL4yj7L
— Charlie Kirk (@charliekirk11) March 5, 2025
Here’s the part Charlie Kirk quoted from the dissenting opinion, written by Alito:
“Does a single district-court judge who likely lacks jurisdiction have the unchecked power to compel the Government of the United States to pay out (and probably lose forever) 2 billion taxpayer dollars? The answer to that question should be an emphatic “No,” but a majority of this Court apparently thinks otherwise. I am stunned.”
Me, too… Alito. Me, too.
But Rep. Massie isn’t one to wallow in the mire of a bad turn of events.
And his recommendation is the smartest thing I’ve heard all day.
He’s right — and he’s been right all along. EVERY SINGLE TIME he has argued against these “continuing resolutions” to maintain the status-quo of unmitigated spending… he has been right.
But this time, his answer HAPPENS to carry with it the silver bullet that UPENDS the Supreme Court which sided with the RINO’s and lefties.
Republicans CONTROL the House and the Senate. It doesn’t take the diligent work of DOGE to fix this.
As Massie so eloquently stated: “QUIT SENDING THE D*MN MONEY TO USAID!”
Congress just stood up and applauded DOGE for exposed wasteful and fraudulent programs that Congress itself funded… and plans to fund in the coming CR.

All it takes is the backbone and patience for Republicans to BACK AWAY from that “easy button” known as a “continuing resolution” bill.
And for once, DO THEIR JOB.
This all started when President Trump, after already recognizing the complete lunacy of USAID’s entire existence, pointed DOGE squarely at the billions being wasted through the agency, according to the Associated Press:
The Trump administration said it is eliminating more than 90% of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s foreign aid contracts and $60 billion in overall U.S. assistance around the world, putting numbers on its plans to eliminate the majority of U.S. development and humanitarian help abroad.
The cuts detailed by the administration would leave few surviving USAID projects for advocates to try to save in what are ongoing court battles with the administration.
The Trump administration outlined its plans in both an internal memo obtained by The Associated Press and filings in one of those federal lawsuits Wednesday.
The memo said officials were “clearing significant waste stemming from decades of institutional drift.” More changes are planned in how USAID and the State Department deliver foreign assistance, it said, “to use taxpayer dollars wisely to advance American interests.”
President Donald Trump and ally Elon Musk have hit foreign aid harder and faster than almost any other target in their push to cut the size of the federal government. Both men say USAID projects advance a liberal agenda and are a waste of money.
Trump on Jan. 20 ordered what he said would be a 90-day program-by-program review of which foreign assistance programs deserved to continue, and cut off all foreign assistance funds almost overnight.
In all, the Trump administration said it will eliminate 5,800 of 6,200 multiyear USAID contract awards, for a cut of $54 billion. Another 4,100 of 9,100 State Department grants were being eliminated, for a cut of $4.4 billion.
But all that came crashing down when two Supreme Court Justices in particular shockingly sided with the left-leaning side of the Court, against President Trump.
So the Supreme Court Justices heard all the USAID fraud listed and still ruled the next day to force the President of the United States to disburse another $2 BILLION. How is this happening? We seem to have traitors to the Constitution in our Supreme Court. Makes me furious! pic.twitter.com/ZbKdusxBu2

The Court’s decision today almost instantly puts $2 billion dollars of taxpayer money back into play for USAID contracts, most of which are clearly wasteful and often hides the funding of all manner of “black projects” off the books.
Did we REALLY spend $50 million dollars on condoms for Gaza? If you believe that, maybe we should go over again exactly what the CIA has been up to — with USAID as their money laundering division.
Even with a 6-3 “conservative supermajority”, Barrett and Roberts’ decisions to side with the liberals on the Court threatened to set back any gains made by DOGE on the issue of USAID spending, according to Newsweek:
Supporters of President Donald Trump turned their sights on Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett—and to a lesser extent, Chief Justice John Roberts—after they sided with the court’s liberals in a ruling against the Trump administration on Wednesday.
The court currently has a 6-3 conservative supermajority, but both Barrett and Roberts have at times broken ranks and voted with the court’s liberal wing in rulings that have infuriated the MAGA base.
The high court handed the U.S. president a significant setback when it ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration must abide by a lower court order to unfreeze $2 billion in foreign aid.
The aid was blocked after Trump signed an executive action his first day in office ordering the funding freeze while his administration scoured U.S. spending for what Trump and his allies characterize as “waste, fraud and abuse.”
A lower court judge subsequently ordered the administration to unblock the aid in response to a lawsuit filed by nonprofit organizations in connection to the Trump administration’s freezing of foreign assistance through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department.
In a 5-4 ruling on Wednesday, Barrett and Roberts joined Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson and left in place the ruling by U.S. District Judge Amir Ali.
Barrett drew immediate backlash from prominent Trump supporters over her siding with the majority.
Conservative justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh dissented from the majority opinion.
All that to say again… Thomas Massie is right. He has been right, and he is right again.
I’m all for DOGE digging in, finding the waste, and cutting the waste.
This is what I voted for!
But if the court system, Supreme or not, is going to play politics and side with the progressive elites and RINOs in order to KEEP THE MONEY PRINTING FOREVER GOING STRONG…
It’s simply time for Congress — Republican controlled in both houses — to step up and do their job.
It’s time to STOP passing these “continuing resolutions”, and it’s time to CUT THE PORK.
Defund USAID, already!
And if there are enough RINOs and democrats willing to stand in the way…?
Let them shut it all down, indefinitely.
At least, at that point… things will still be heading in the right direction.
