President Trump talked about an old friend in his latest Fox News interview.
In an interview with Fox News’ “The Five”, President Trump discussed his past friendship with the late John F. Kennedy Jr.
The 47th President shared he believed JFK Jr. could have been president one day.
Trump later shared the memories he had of JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy when they would visit Mar-a-Lago.
The Hill provided Trump’s quotes from the interview:
President Trump said on Thursday that he believes John F. Kennedy Jr. would have gone on to be president and recounted knowing the famed Kennedy in the 1990s.
“I think he would have gone on, perhaps, to be the president,” Trump said when asked by host Dana Perino in an interview on “The Five” on Fox News.
“I actually knew him and liked him, and he liked me, believe it or not,” Trump said, noting that Kennedy Jr. put him on the cover of George magazine, which Kennedy founded.
Trump said Kennedy Jr. was going to sell the magazine and become a politician.
“He was going to run for the Senate. He told me, and nobody would have beaten him,” he said.
Trump went on to recall Kennedy Jr. staying at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Fla., with his wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
“They would go down to Mar-a-Lago together, and they had a very interesting relationship,” Trump said. “They would bicker together, in other words have little fights, and then they would make up and start kissing wildly.”
“It was one of those relationships, and you never know how those relationships are going to turnout,” he said.

People reported there is a new drama on FX that depicts JFK Jr. and his wife’s “Love Story”:
There has been renewed interest in the late couple’s life following the release of Ryan Murphy’s drama series, Love Story, which debuted on FX on Feb. 12 and aired its season finale on Thursday night. It is the latest installment in Murphy’s American Story anthology franchise, and sees Paul Anthony Kelly as the son of President John F. Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Sarah Pidgeon as the fashion executive for Calvin Klein.
July 16, 2000 marks the one-year anniversary of the plane crash off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts that killed Kennedy, his wife, and her sister Lauren Bessette.
FX previously said the season, which is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book, Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, charts the “complex and heartbreaking journey of a couple whose private love became a national obsession.”
Following a whirlwind romance, the couple tied the knot on Sept. 21, 1996, in a secret ceremony held on the exclusive Cumberland Island in Georgia at the First African Baptist Church.
It took six months of meticulous planning to pull off the wedding without tipping off the media, requiring “the skill of James Bond and the whole CIA,” Letitia Baldrige, former White House social secretary to John’s mother, told PEOPLE.
Their ups and downs play out in the drama series, including an episode about an anonymous letter John received that threatened their romance after it accused Carolyn of using him for his “fame and fortune.”
Some, like JFK Jr.’s nephew Jack Schlossberg, have spoken out against the series, calling it a “grotesque display” of his family’s life.
