President Trump commented on the death of Rob Reiner after news broke that the Hollywood director and his wife were found deceased in an apparent homicide.

“A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump said on Truth Social.

“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!” he added.

Reiner, a Democrat and donor, and his wife were found stabbed to death in their home on Sunday afternoon.

Democratic figures including California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), former Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama took to social media to offer their condolences to the Reiner family following the news.

“Michelle and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Rob Reiner and his beloved wife, Michele. Rob’s achievements in film and television gave us some of our most cherished stories on screen. But beneath all of the stories he produced was a deep belief in the goodness of people—and a lifelong commitment to putting that belief into action,” Obama wrote in a post on X.

According to TMZ, Reiner and his wife “had their throats slit by a family member, possibly after an argument inside their Los Angeles home.”

One of Reiner’s daughters reportedly found them dead and told police another family member was responsible.

The couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, is being investigated as a person of interest.

TMZ explained further:

Our sources also say the daughter told police the family member “should be a suspect” because they’re “dangerous.”

TMZ broke the story … Rob and Michele suffered lacerations consistent with knife wounds, and LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is investigating the case.

Dispatch audio captures LAPD calling for backup to the Brentwood mansion around 3:30 PM … though it doesn’t provide any further information about the circumstances in the abode.
