This is even bigger than huge news — this is gigantic!
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, President Trump is expected to sign an executive order as early as this Thursday aimed at abolishing the Department of Education.
The order is very clear.
It would direct newly-confirmed Education Secretary Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department.”

The Wall Street Journal originally broke the news:
President Trump is expected to issue an executive order as soon as Thursday aimed at abolishing the Education Department, according to people briefed on the matter.
A draft of the order, viewed by The Wall Street Journal, directs Education Secretary Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department” based on “the maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.”
Fox News added:
President Donald Trump is expected to issue an executive order, possibly Thursday, aimed at abolishing the Department of Education, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The newspaper cited several people briefed on the matter and reviewed a draft of the order.
It directs newly sworn Education Secretary Linda McMahon to “take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Education Department” based on “the maximum extent appropriate and permitted by law.”
“The experiment of controlling American education through Federal programs and dollars—and the unaccountable bureaucrats those programs and dollars support—has failed our children, our teachers, and our families,” the draft order reads.
Shortly after taking her position, McMahon said she would “send education back to the states.”
Trump has long talked about dismantling the Department of Education, saying it has failed America’s students.
Wow.
Can you imagine?
The federal government having no authority over your children’s education?
Schooling back in the hands of the states, as intended?
Sounds like a dream.
But, it looks like that dream may become reality very, very soon.
We’ll keep you posted!
