Jacksonville police are reviewing shocking footage that has gone viral appearing to show police fighting fans during the Georgia Bulldogs vs Florida Gators game on Saturday.

The footage appears to show two Florida fans being wrestled to the ground and punched by police. One older fan is seen being grappled by a cop and doesn’t seem to be resisting against the officer, who still throws punches at him.

Another supporter appears to be pinned down on nearby steps while a different police officer throws punches.

A statement from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office on Saturday said they are ‘aware of the videos circulating from the Georgia-Florida football game.

‘Administrative reviews of the incidents are being opened. As such, the agency will not comment until all facts are known and the reviews have been completed.’

It’s not clear what led to police being involved in the situation, or what brought them to that area in the first place.

As for the game itself, Georgia beat rivals Florida 34-20 to move to a 7-1 record for the season in a game known as ‘The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party’.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns to offset three interceptions for the Bulldogs.

The Georgia-Florida rivalry is one of the biggest in college football, with the game routinely being played off the two school’s campuses in Jacksonville, Florida – located about 30 miles from the border between the two states.

Buildup to the game lasts almost the entire week – with tailgates beginning days before the game itself.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the 2026 and 2027 editions of the game would be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa respectively as Jacksonville’s Everbank Field undergoes renovations.
