Well, that was fast!

After a federal judge ruled that President Trump had to rescind authority of the California National Guard to Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Trump administration quickly filed an appeal.

We brought you that report here:

BREAKING: Judge Orders President Trump To Hand Over Control of National Guard to Newsom

Now, the appeals court has sided with President Trump, granting him authority of the National Guard while litigation continues.

It’s a solid win for President Trump and means the National Guard can stay in Los Angeles to restore order and peace — at least for now.

Check out the latest development:

AP News has the details:

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday temporarily blocked a federal judge’s order that directed President Donald Trump to return control of National Guard troops to California after he deployed them there following protests in Los Angeles over immigration raids.

The court said it would hold a hearing on the matter on Tuesday. The ruling came only hours after a federal judge’s order was to take effect at noon Friday.

Earlier Thursday, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer ruled the Guard deployment was illegal and both violated the Tenth Amendment and exceeded Trump’s statutory authority. The order applied only to the National Guard troops and not Marines who were also deployed to the LA protests. The judge said he would not rule on the Marines because they were not out on the streets yet.

The ruling, which was part of California’s lawsuit against President Trump for deploying the National Guard to help stop violent riots in Los Angeles, was ridiculous in the first place.

The President holds the title of Commander-in-Chief for a reason.

The executive branch’s command of the military is second to nobody.

And, it’s almost like even the judge knew his ruling was bogus.

He had stayed his own ruling until tomorrow at noon, allowing plenty of time for an appeal to go through.

However, that didn’t stop Gavin Newsom from bragging about his (premature) victory.

In light of the appeals court granting President Trump’s notion, this looks hilarious:
